TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1.No payment is required to enter the competition.
2.By entering the competition home chefs are deemed to have read and understood the terms and conditions
and be bound by them.
Eligibility
3.The competition is open to anyone who cooks at home, it is not open to anyone who works in the service
industry as a chef/cook and is not open to members/staff of Cavan County Council.
4.All entries to the competition must be the work of the home chef who submits the entry
5.Only individual entries will be accepted and only one entry per person is accepted.
6.Applications will be shortlisted based on the information provided.
Categories
7.Home chefs are asked to prepare, make and serve a main course using local produce within a budget of €20 for 2 people (main ingredients must be local and 70% of overall produce must be local)
8.All parts of the entry form must be completed and entries must include a photograph of the finished dish.
9. Home chefs must supply all ingredients required to cook their dish at Taste of Cavan.
10. Completed entries must be posted to Siobhan Mulligan, Community & Enterprise, Cavan County Council, Courthouse, Cavan or emailed to to be received no later than 5pm on Friday, 1st July 2016.
11.No responsibility will be taken by Taste of Cavan Committee for any entries which are damaged, lost or received after the closing date. Entries will not be returned.

Home Chef of Cavan Cookery Competition
13. The competition will take place on 12th and 13th August 2016 in the Cavan Equestrian Centre, Latt, Cavan. Home Chefs must be available to attend if they are selected.
14.A total of 12 entries will be selected to take part in the competition based on the entries submitted.
15.All entries will be judged by a team of experts and the judges’ decision is final.
16.All costs associated with the competition are the responsibility of the home chefs.
17.Home chefs will bring their own cooking utensils, dishes, knives etc. Taste of Cavan will provide a table, home chefs must dress the table for service including serving dishes, cutlery, glasses, etc.
18.Meat/fish/main ingredient can be marinated overnight if required, vegetables can be peeled but not prepped, homemade stock can be brought in. The dish does not have to be a traditional Cavan dish.
19.Home chef cooks for 2 people and serves 2 portions. There will be 3 cookery stations and times will be allocated to each person. Cookery stations to be cleaned and left ready for next chef.
Prize
20. The Prize is DinnerB&B in the MacNean House and Restaurant & a day in The Neven Maguire Cookery School for 2 people sponsored by Neven Maguire plus €200 spending money sponsored by Taste of Cavan, total value of the prize is €1,000
21. All decisions of the Home Chef of Cavan judging panel – Chef Neven Maguire, Chef Shane Smith, ChefAnjula Devi - will be final and binding. No further correspondence will be entered into.
Publicity
22. The Taste of Cavan Committee reserve the right to use the recipes and photos in promotional material.
23. Entrants may be required by the Taste of Cavan Committee to participate in publicity activities including interviews, photo and/or video sessions. The competition organisers reserve the right to use such material in any reasonable manner.
24. The final served dishbecomes the sole property of the Taste of Cavan and may be usedfor marketing purposes.
