Lobbyists work to influence legislation at the federal, provincial and municipal level. These groups help to ensure the voices of all Canadians are heard. Your task is to investigate a lobby group that works to influence decisions made by the Canadian federal government.

Step 1:Select a lobby group. You may choose from the list below or research another lobby group that you know of.

Step 2:Use reliable internet sites or other forms of media (i.e. current event articles, pamphlets or press statements released by or about the group) to research the following:

History of the group

What is the purpose or mission of the group?

Who do they represent?

Is the group associated with a political party?

Examples of past projects or campaigns

Current issues or campaigns

Any other interesting information about the group

Step 3:Prepare a PowerPoint presentation to inform your classmates about the lobby group you investigated.

Your presentations will be evaluated according to the following rubric:
