Impact of Sport Premium funding at Willowbrook School
2016 - 2017
Our aims:
1. The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – kick-starting healthy active lifestyles
2. The profile of PE and sport being raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement
3. Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
4. Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
5. Increased participation in competitive sport
Expenditure / Benefit / CostSt Luke’s sport partnership / -One morning a week when a secondary PE specialist teacher works along staff to plan and deliver quality PE lessons. Plus 3 extra days for support on delivering Intra-school competitions, curriculum, MTA training & young leader training. He supports our young leaders (Family captains) to lead Intra-school competitions each half term.
-30 G&T children attend sessions at St Luke’s every half term. Children have met professional athletes, learnt about diet, mindfulness and active sessions designed to strengthen their bodies.
-Offered and attend more competitions for those who are not in the partnership. i.e. Cross country at Killerton.
-Twilight CPD training for teachers which our weattended Gymnastics as part of our staff meeting.
-Teachers have access to St Luke’s google drive which has lots of resources for planning.
-Two spaces to attend their Primary conference which I have attended last few years.
-Primary sports awards – we nominate teams, individual, young leaders & staff for awards.
-Fit to succeed questionnaire for children to complete.
-Support with running and resourcing our Change for life club. / £7,400
Premier Sport after school club. / -After school clubs on a Wednesday when staff are in staff meetings. Usually KS1 sport club because staff usually volunteer lead KS2 clubs.
-We offer sports that children may not have taken part in before for example Archery. / £990
Mini’s academy / -Level 4 coaches who work in community department at Exeter Chief’s. Usually designed for KS1 children and on days staff cannot commit to. / £800
Transport / -Y3 took part in a festival at Sidmouth rugby club after working with the community coaches.
-60 children took part in cross country competition at Killerton.
-Y5 took part in outdoor learning day at Killerton.

Supply cover / -Cover PE lead to attend primary conference.
-Cover for staff to attend sport events during school time – we have had 3 teams this academic year reach regionals. / £362
Sport equipment / -Replacing and repairing sports equipment. / £300
Our aims for 2017-18:
- To engage families including parents to lead active lifestyles.
- To increase participation and enjoyment of physical activity through delivery of a non-competitive sport curriculum.
- Broaden children’s experience of competitive sport.
- Children work alongside coaches with specific skills in sport.
