Scope
This is the user guide for contractors on how to install and print CPSIA labels.
Important
Users are advised to follow this procedure to print CPSIA labels. Users should contact Avery Dennison as soon as possible if anomalies are found. Though responsible parties would resolve any issue upon request, Avery Dennison shall not be liable for direct, indirect, or consequential damages, costs, expenses, lost profits, or lost savings resulting from labels printed with incorrect information, in poor quality, delivered late, or with any issue leads to failure, which may or may not be applied on the products or shipped to customers. This is the responsibility of the users to check the labels before use, and report problems proactively.
Requirements:
1. Table (1.2m x 1.8m / 4’ x 6’) strong enough to hold 45 kilos (100 pounds)
2. Clean electrical power with surge protector
3. Desktop Computer (P-III) with Windows 2000 SP4 or Windows XP SP2 (English Version) with Internet Explorer 6.0 or later
4. Available CDROM drive or USB flash drive for running the installation files
5. One PC can only print to one printer only. If the plant is using one PC for printing to two or more printers, they have to get more PCs.
6. Paper or plastic baggies for labels
7. Administration right on that computer
Installation
1. Go to http://systems.paxar.com.hk/cpsia/, click on the “Avery CPSIA Setup Package” link and download the setup package. Extract the zip file.
2. If you are installing 611 printer, change the baud rate to 115200 on printer front panel and run “611MemSetup.cmd” included in the setup package
It is important to run the 611MemSetup.cmd file to increase the memory of the printer.
3. Install PCMate Platinum 6.0.113 or higher
You may go to http://systems.paxar.com.hk/cpsia/ to download the PCMate printing software. Click on “PCMate Platinum 6.0” and download the setup file.
4. Add Printer in PCMate
Follow the printer setup below for adding specific printer type:
Snap 500
Printer: 500 (300 DPI)
Comm Port: COM1
Baud Rate: 57600
XOn/Xoff
611
Printer: 611/9840CL (300 DPI)
Comm Port: COM1
Baud Rate: 115200
Strobe Adj.: 40 – 60%
XOn/Xoff
5. Run “Setup.cmd” included in the setup package.
It is important to run the Setup.cmd file in order to copy files needed for printing CPSIA labels. The Setup.cmd file can also be used to reset format and rebuild templates.

2 ways to make a print file
I. Create New Print File
1. Open PCMate and create new print file.
2. Fill in with data you need to print.
3. Press “F3” for new entry
4. Select Row and press “F5” to duplicate entry
5. Select Row and press “F6” to remove entry
II. Import Data File From Excel File
1. Open the corresponding excel file template of the format you need in “C:\D2Comm\Avery CPSIA” folder.

2. Fill in the information. Use only Sheet 1 to fill in your data.
6. Save and close the excel File. Make sure that the Headers in row 1 (Line, Qty, Batch, Month, Company, Location, Style) are not changed.
7. Open PCMate and create new print file.
5. In search field, enter an asterisk “*” (all line numbers) or the specific line number you want to search and press “F7” button in your keyboard. The corresponding data you entered earlier in the excel file will be shown here.
Printing CPSIA Labels
1. Open PCMate. Make sure you are in the Print Module (should show in the Window title), if not, click on the button.
2. To create new print file, under “File” Menu, select “New” or click the button. Proceed to Step 5.
3. To open print file, under “File” Menu, select “Open” or click the button.
4. Select “Avery CPSIA” as Design Set, and select the corresponding design you need to print. This will automatically show the existing print file for that design. Select the print file and click the “OK” button.
5. Fill in/edit the details you need.
6. Use Print Preview to check if the information is correct. Go to “File” Menu and select “Print Preview”, or click the button. Edit the information when necessary.
7. Perform printing. In the Print Module, under “File” Menu, select Print or click the button.
8. Select the print option you want and click the “Print” Button.
