o  Describe how your institute is working with the WECAN Shared Principles for Teacher Education Programs and Institutes in relation to the educational program and faculty (Section B) and with the Curriculum and Course Content Areas described on page 9.

o  List all early childhood teacher education programs. Include a list of courses, schedules and course outlines, including the name of the faculty member who teaches each course.

o  Is the early childhood program part of a larger teacher training program? Do early childhood students participate in courses with class teacher trainees or others? Please describe.

o  Who is responsible for program development of the early childhood course? Is there a program director?

o  Please describe your current institutional relationships – is the early childhood program part of a larger teacher education institute?

o  What are your institute’s greatest strengths and challenges in this area?

3) Student admissions, assessment and graduation information

o  What are your admission requirements?

o  Do your students come primarily from your local Waldorf school, immediate area, region, throughout North America, or from around the world?

o  How do you assess the work of your students? How do your students evaluate and review their experience in your training course?

o  What kind of certificate or credential do you offer to the graduates of your courses? Is this certificate recognized within the Waldorf movement or by a state, provincial or other governmental agency?

o  What percentage of your graduates from the last group or cohort of your program is now working in a Waldorf early childhood setting (if applicable)?

o  Describe your facilities. Where do your early childhood classes take place? Are the facilities adequate?

o  Does your program have sufficient administrative resources to support your program(s)? Please attach a list of staff personnel and their positions.

o  What are your tuition fees? What kinds of tuition assistance are available to your students?

7) Collegial and community relations, and relations with the wider movement

o  What are the strengths and challenges in the collegial relations within the early childhood faculty and within the larger institute faculty? How do you deal with conflicts or grievances?

o  What are the strengths and challenges in relations between faculty and staff, board, student body and larger community?

o  How are you cultivating relationships with schools and early childhood practitioners outside your institute or program (mentoring, practicums, observations, and teaching courses in your program, etc.)?
