Mission

A Co 554th EN BN Class 9-05, conducts M16A2 zeroing at Range 2 and qualification at Range 3 on 090630SEP05 in order to qualify all students on the M16A2 rifle.

EXECUTION

•The intent of this mission is for EOBC class 9-05 to qualify 100% of the class with 5% expert and 20% sharpshooter.

•Each student will zero his/her weapon as well as record fire on the pop-up range.

•The end-state for this mission is for all students to execute an M16 range fire and for all students to zero and qualify on the M16A2 rifle SAFELY.

•Phase 1: Preparation/PMI.

•Phase 2: Weapon Issue

•Phase 3: Movement to Range 2.

•Phase 4: Zero Fire.

•Phase 5: Qualification Fire.

•Phase 6: Movement to A/554/ Recovery.

PHASE 1: PREPARATION/PMI

•All coordination IAW OPORD

•We will conduct PMI on 060830SEP05; 3 groups will go to each station on a rotational basis UTC

•PMI will include Dime-Washer Drills, Shadow Box Exercise, SPORTS, 4 fundamentals, and EST

•PMI will be lead by 2LT Campagnone

•EST will be conducted at 061200SEP05

PHASE 1: PREPARATION/PMI

•Firing lines included in OPORD

•Safeties and MEDEVAC rehearsals will be conducted at 081630SEP05

•OIC/RSO submit data to Range Control day of range

PHASE 2: WEAPONS ISSUE

•0350 Formation at company area

•Weapon draw by rack #

•Trail vehicle loading

•Safety briefing for road march

•Formation for movement NLT 0430

PHASE 3: MOVEMENT TO RANGE 2

•Road march to Range 2

•OOM: 1SG, A Team, B Team, C Team, Trail Vehicle

•Commo maintained throughout exercise (1SG, Trail Vehicle, Cadre)

•1SG will maintain pace

Route to Range 2

•Road march on troop trail

•Depart from company area

•Roads guards in front and rear of formation

•4.7 Miles in approx. 1.5 hrs

•Arrive at range NLT 0600

PHASE 4: ZERO FIRE

•25 firing points; 5 safeties

•Zero weapons

•Change ROT (Range Operation Team)

•Concurrent training/ retraining onsite

•Police range/shakedown

•Ammo detail to Range 3

•Chow

•Movement to Range 3

Phase 4: Zero Fire

PHASE 5: QUALIFICATION FIRE

•Movement to Range 3 by foot, approx. 200m.

•Ammo detail prepares range and ammo prep (15 Soldiers)

•16 lanes utilized; 5 firing orders

•ROT rotation as needed

•Concurrent training/ retraining during idle time

•Weapons cleaning

•Range closure

PHASE 6: MOVEMENT TO A/554

•Trans to A/554 company area

•Student Transportation Officer has requested trans, and will continue to follow up.

•Accountability: 100%

SERVICE SUPPORT

•EOBC Class 9-05 is responsible for scheduling any and all supply requirements necessary for operating the M16 zero and qualification ranges.

•All requests will be coordinated through student S-4.

SERVICE SUPPORT

•Class I: Students will bring bag lunches, water cans on site

•Class III: Cleaning kits and CLP on site (S-4/armorer)

•Class V: Ammo (8500 rounds 5.56 ball) delivered to AHA at Range 2 at 0600

•Maintenance will be organic to company

•Transportation has been requested for return

•Alternate: TMP vehicle

•CLS: SSG Mendez

•Decisions on the firing line will be made by range cadre

•Decisions off the firing line will be made by CLS/ SGI’s, and will be coordinated through the range
