BATTING FOCUS – Balls vs Strikes

BATTING DRILLS:

Drill #1: TEE WORK - BAT CONTROL
Swings: 72 SWINGS

Set up the Tee and complete the series of swings 3 times each at the 4 locations (high/inside, low/inside, high/outside, low/outside)

1)  Swing and stop at contact (twice)

2)  Swing and stop at the point of extension (twice)

3)  Full swing (twice)

Drill #2: TEE WORK - WHAT IS YOUR PITCH
Swings: 100 SWINGS

Set the tee up in the following 4 locations, and hit 25 balls at each location…. really pay attention to which area you a) hit better, and b) felt more comfortable hitting…. you need to start being able to recognize what YOUR PITCH is…..Write below at the end of the drill what you decided is your pitch to hit….

a)  High Inside

b)  High Outside

c)  Low Inside

d)  Low Outside

Drill #3 Batting Cage - WEAR HELMET – FAST HANDS

Swings: 50 SWINGS

With the machine as fast as it goes, stand half way between the machine and home plate and hit from there….

Drill #5: Batting Cage – WEAR HELMET – BALLS vs STRIKES
Swings: 100 SWINGS

Step into the batters box of the cage, and only swing at the pitches that are in your strike zone, check your swing on the balls

Drill #4: Batting Cage – WEAR HELMET – 3 BALLS, 2 STRIKES
Swings: 50 SWINGS

Step into the batters box, and say to yourself that you have a 3 and 2 count. See how many times you would have ended up walking or hitting, and how many times you would have struck out... Fill in your results below!
