Veterans Memorial Lane ClosuresContinueNext Week

Water line replacement progresses in north Killeen.

Lane closureswill occur on Veterans Memorial Boulevard next week as north side water line infrastructure improvement progresses.

Closures are scheduled as follows:

Tuesday, February 27

  • Veterans Memorial Boulevard, westbound outside lane from 2nd Street to Gray Street
  • 4th Street, from Veterans Memorial Boulevard to Avenue G

Wednesday, February 28

  • Veterans Memorial Boulevard, westbound outside lane from 10th Street to 2ndStreet
  • 8thStreet, from Veterans Memorial Boulevard to Avenue G
  • Gray Street, from Veterans Memorial Boulevard to Avenue G
  • 4th Street, from Veterans Memorial Boulevard to Avenue G

Thursday, March 1

  • Veterans Memorial Boulevard, westbound outside lane from 10thStreet to 2ndStreet
  • 10thStreet, from Veterans Memorial Boulevard to Avenue G
  • 8thStreet, from Veterans Memorial Boulevard to Avenue G
  • Gray Street, from Veterans Memorial Boulevard to Avenue G
  • 4th Street, from Veterans Memorial Boulevard to Avenue G

Closures will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on scheduled days. Roadways will be open outside of work hours.

Additionally, intermittent closures will occur Monday and Friday on Veterans Memorial Boulevard between 10th Street and College Street.

This work is part of a $1.2 million investment in water infrastructure in northern Killeen to replace two miles of water mains along Veterans Memorial Boulevard from 38th Street to College Street.The rehabilitated infrastructure will increase water quality and available fire flow and reduce the number of water main breaks and service interruptions. Completion is anticipated by summer.

Traffic will be detoured around the work areas, and motorists are asked to use caution and obey signage.

The City of Killeen apologizes for any inconvenience as a result of this work, and we appreciate your cooperation as we improve this infrastructure.
