RCC Meeting

10/26/2009

Aaron, JG, Brooke, JT, Cassy, Peter, Sami

Foundation: gift account has been nixed. Aaron has given the information to Atsu. It is a minimum $500. Right now we will do it as an RCC, and then try to move to bigger clubs. We need to come up with an idea of how to get smaller clubs part of it. And we need a solid plan on how we track the money going in. BAO said that we can do a foundation, but we haven’t heard back from SFC. Aaron will continue to get the paperwork gathered. Donations can not go straight into their accounts, so we will be putting those in a foundation account, and track it VERY well. Clubs have already started collecting donations. We will have to charge them 5% for every donation they deposit.

SFC Questionnaire: Finish your sections. Agree to be done by Friday! Next week we will go over the actual budget

Sailing: JT will email the club and let them know that 6 people are not adequate showing of the roster (39) of your club. We would also like the clubs leaders to abstain from the voting. We need to see at least 50% of your club voting on this survey.

Disc Golf Zip Car: we will talk about this at next weeks meeting.

Rugby: Sami talked to Rugby on Friday to the club; she got a call on Thursday from Alex about a complaint from a restaurant owner about the behavior of the Rugby team at a fundraiser at his place of business. Rugby was at the restaurant after doing the half time show at the PSU football team. It was actually a club dinner. There was eating and drinking, things got out of hand when they went to pay, one member was upset with his ticket. One of the friends got sick and threw up in the bathroom. Sami has started the conflict resolution process. She is still doing some fact finding. They had an unauthorized event, they made PSU look bad, and they were consuming alcohol. Those are the things that went wrong in regards to our handbook. Tony (the guy that created the problems) will be looked at separately. The team did accept that the incident happened. Alcohol at an event is a degree 3 offense. Nick felt that he didn’t own his role as leader that well, and got lost in the excitement of the whole event. He wants us to possibly ask for new leadership in the club. He feels that maybe he isn’t the best person for leadership. In the letter that they wrote to us, they asked for probation, funds frozen, events cancelled. The have only 4 people from the club last year, the other club leaders are in different part of their lives, and most of the club is newer people, some of who have never played the sport before. Aaron disagrees and thinks that Nick is a good leader, and by showing up today proves that he deserves to be a leader. JT thinks that the other leaders did not take on their responsibility as leaders in helping Nick with the club. JT would like to see this be a learning experience, and doesn’t feel that Nick should be damned for one bad team player. JG is excited that Nick became the club leader. The RCC believes in Nick as a club leader. Sami would like to cancel the practices this week, and have a club meeting to decide if they really want to be a club and what it takes, possible fine, and probation for the rest of the year, mandatory weekly club leader meetings. RCC recommends that they create a charter about goals and what they will do to accomplish those goals. We would like to see different new leaders; we would like them to have this mandatory club meeting. Have them present at another club training. The RCC wants them to be probation. If they can not agree to have new leaders step up and work with Sami and the RCC, then there is no reason for them to continue to be a club.

SFC Rollover: This is due on Wednesday. They would like to know why we give out rollover. They also want our philosophies. They want exact reasons why the clubs went over, and the SFC wants to know why we would grant them money. Rollovers: Cycling, Fencing, Random, Breakin. Overages: Crew ($239.44) miscalculation with OPE < RCC will forgive the full amount, Dragonboat ($629.77), Lacrosse ($734.38) miscalculations with OPE <RCC will forgive the full amount, Sailing ($1,220.69), Soccer ($1380.33)

Cassy will contact the clubs to see why they had overages.

JT needs to get a hold of the Paintball club.
