Purpose of the job:
To develop and lead Healthy Relationships projects, using our unique and innovative whole school approach to preventing violence to women and girls in a secondary school environment.
The principal tasks and responsibilities-

  • Work with the Head of Service: Children and Young People (CYP) to develop, implement and review a Healthy Relationships in Secondary Schools(HRSS) project and strategy that:
-increases and enhances resources and current delivery for young people in mainstream school
-enables current gaps to be met
  • Work with the Head of Service: CYP to develop, implement and review an action plan to enable this strategy to be achieved
  • Deliver presentations to promote the HRSS project and twilights (after-school sessions for teaching staff) to schools and any other interested groups.
  • Promote licencing agreements to external partners. .
  • Work with the Campaigns Coordinator and Marketing Executive to develop a marketing strategy for the HRSS project and action plan and undertake assigned actions.

  • Deliver Healthy Relationships in Secondary Schoolsproject to pupils and twilighttraining to professionals in line with agreed session plans
  • Deliver Healthy Relationships in Secondary Schoolstraining to freelancers and licensees.
  • Alongside the CYP team, develop and deliver Equation’s Children and Young People training
  • Deliver briefings to professionals to introduce them to Healthy Relationships in Secondary Schools and Equation’s resources for children and young people

3 / Rigour: Our work is based on solid evidence and a considered approach.
  • Alongside the Head of Service: CYP ensure the effective design of monitoring tool
  • Collate and analyse effective monitoring data, prepare reports for schools and funders
  • Quality assure content of the Healthy Relationships in Secondary Schools projects and delivery to ensure it is current and continues to effectively meet the requirements of stakeholders
  • Communicate best practice, HRSS updates and evaluation data to CYP team and freelancers and wider Equation team as relevant

4 / Compassion: We prioritise the wellbeing and safety of survivors, their children and the whole community.
  • Consider safeguarding children and young people to be an integral component of the role
  • As part of Equation’s Safeguarding Team, support secondary schools, freelancers and Equation team members with safeguarding children and adults, providing relevant information and resources as per Equation's safeguarding policy
  • Support freelancers with safeguarding debriefs

5 / Collaboration: We work in partnership against domestic abuse.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with secondary schools
  • Promote and book projects and professional twilight sessions with secondary schools in line with annual targets
  • Communicate all project bookings to the CYP and admin team to ensure all projects can be delivered and project packs are available
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential licenceesof Healthy Relationships in Secondary Schools and coordinate the purchase of licences
  • Support the Head of Service: CYP with the recruitment of freelancers
  • Induct, supervise and appraise freelancers and ensure their targets are SMART and in line with the HRSS strategy
  • Alongside other CYP Coordinators, chair freelance meetings
  • Alongside the CYP team, develop and deliver freelance enrichment days

Equation: Organisational
  • Contribute to ensuring that processes and systems are efficient and provide value for money
  • Promote Equation resources, services and fundraising opportunities
  • Support and assist the other work delivered with children and young people and in the development of Equation as a whole
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation, policy and practice, especially safeguarding and gender issues
  • Any other duties as required of you by Equation
