Roman Poster Project
DUE DATE: Monday, January 9, 2012
Students will design a poster highlighting the Roman Empire. To do this, students will divide their poster into three main parts: Roman Achievements, The Roman Republic and Empire, and The Decline and Fall of Rome.
The poster, which will be constructed on at least a 12x18 inch sheet of poster board, must incorporate a variety of devises- pictures, replications of art, artifacts, graphic displays, maps, and primary sources documents to capture the essence and significance of the topic.
Additionally, students must attach a paragraph summarizing your poster. Each paragraph will summarize one of the three individual parts of the poster. Students will use materials collected throughout the unit and resources collected through additional research.
The due date for this project is Monday, January 9, 2011. NO exceptions.
Requirements
1. Your poster must focus on the Roman Empire. It should be comprised of 3 parts:
· Roman Achievements
· The Roman Republic and Empire
· Decline and Fall of Rome
(You must have at least 2 examples from each category. Each example
needs a graphic and a detailed description – at least 3 to 6 sentences)
2. A paragraph comprised of and summarizing:
· Roman Achievements
· Beginning of Rome
· Decline and Fall of Rome
3. Each section must use graphic elements form the list below.
· Pictures
· Symbols
· Music
· Charts and tables
· Timeline
· Computer- generated displays
· Collages
· Maps
· Replications of art and artifacts
· Important quotes
· Copies of primary source documents
· Illustrations
