A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in loving memory and honor of Raymond Graham "Ray" Mullinix.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to our friend and colleague, Raymond Graham "Ray" Mullinix, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, Ray Mullinix was born on September 4, 1948, a native of Glasgow, Barren County, Kentucky, and longtime resident of Burkesville, Cumberland County, Kentucky, and he traversed these earthly bounds on July 26, 2002; and

WHEREAS, Ray Mullinix was the loving son of Hilda Graham Mullinix and the late Raymond O. Mullinix; he was the devoted husband of Elizabeth Mae "Libby" Mullinix; and he also leaves behind a loving aunt, Tessie Wheat of Indiana, his loving sister-in-law and her husband, June and Larry Spears of Albany; two loving uncles, Earl Mullinix of Burkesville and Carlos Graham of Indiana; a loving niece, Tonya Wilson of Newburg, Indiana, and two loving great-nephews, Duncan and Connor; and

WHEREAS, Ray Mullinix was an esteemed member of the Cumberland County community, where he was an active and involved citizen and he worked tirelessly for many worthwhile causes; he was a member of the Burkesville Baptist Church; he graduated from Cumberland County High School in 1966, and he attended Lindsey Wilson College; he was one of the original founders and the owner/operator of WKYR Radio since 1975, and he was a member of the Kentucky Broadcasters Association; he was a former president of the Burkesville-Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce and he served as president and board member of the Burkesville Cemetery; for many years, he was president of the Cumberland County Fair Board; and he was chairman of the Burkesville-Cumberland County Industrial Authority and vice president and treasurer of the Burkesville-Cumberland County Development Corporation; and

WHEREAS, Ray Mullinix was an active and dedicated member of the Republican Party; he represented his constituents from the 53rd Representative District of Wayne, Clinton, Cumberland and Adair counties with pride and honesty while exemplifying professionalism and high standards, and during his four terms as State Representative, he served his colleagues and fellow committee members with great integrity and dedication while serving on the State Government Committee, Transportation Committee, Agriculture and Small Business Committee, and the Economic Development and Tourism Committee; and

WHEREAS, the passing of Ray Mullinix has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The House of Representatives does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of Raymond Graham "Ray" Mullinix, and extends to his family and many friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of Raymond Graham "Ray" Mullinix.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Mrs. Elizabeth Mae Mullinix, 127 Baker Street, Burkesville, Kentucky 42717.
