Colleges and universities have been developing systems to monitor students whose behavior has caused some concern. A panel will discuss how it receives, processes, designates, and/or monitors information about students of concern. Panel members will discuss the internal database system used to assist in tracking/monitoring the interventions with these students. The panel will present for 30 minutes, leaving 20 minutes for questions and discussion.

A panel will discuss the decision to move forward with a sexual assault conduct board hearing, without the consent of the victim, to prevent the future reoccurrence of the violence. Panel members will discuss their role in the investigation, conduct board hearing and outcome. The panel will present for 30 minutes, leaving 30 minutes for questions and discussion.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) contains permissive disclosure clauses which make it possible to disclose information from student records without student permission. Post-secondary institutions are required to make and publish their decisions about disclosure under each clause. This presentation highlights recent research which shows that less than 50% of universities in the study were in compliance with this requirement. Information about the clauses and suggestions as to how we can all get in compliance will be discussed.

"Utilizing the Spectrum Model to Address Student Conduct/Conflict"
Schrage & Thompson created a model in 2008 that presents a variety of pathways to address student conduct/conflict situations. A general overview of the different pathways, and specific application of Restorative Justice and other conflict resolution methods on different campuses will be shared.
