The language of research writing: TIU RESA workshops 2017

These workshops are for all higher degree by research (HDR) scholars, particularly for those for whom English is an additional language (EAL). They are presented together with the other Research Education Support Activities (RESA) or workshops for commencing and continuing HDR students, namely:

·  Proposal, paper and thesis writing

·  Oral communication, including the 3MT

·  Career development

Writer’s circles – feedback on writing
These small group sessions provide opportunities for peer feedback on drafts of research writing. Bring up to 6 copies of 1/2 –2 pages of a draft. Students say these sessions assist in ‘Learning about writing by reading each other’s work’.

Writing retreats

A retreat allows you to write your research without distractions. A retreat encourages you to develop productive writing habits. Apart from dedicated writing time, individual consultations on your writing are also provided. Enjoy the luxury of writing all day in a quiet & supportive writing environment.
