A Happy and Healthy Heart Health Month to each and every one of you? Are you all on track with recording a net loss for the month of January?
- Don’t forget to send your report of each member’s progress to Margie before the 15th of February
- Don’t forget to send the following information to me as soon as possible after your last weigh in in January
- Total number of members in your chapter with an active membership (regardless of whether or not they are attending meetings)
- Number of KOPS who were KOPS all month
- Total pounds lost or gained by the TOPS (Not KOPS) members
- Number of KOPS who were at or below goal for the entire month
2014’S AREA CAPTAIN CHALLENGE
The five chapters that reported for the month of December managed to give us a total net loss for the month – not a large one – but it was a loss! These five chapters reported
- 81 Total Members
- 18 KOPS
- A net loss of 3.15#
- 12 of the 18 KOPS were at or below goal for the entire month.
CA77, Sunland
- 12 Total Members
- 3 KOPS
- .4# Net Loss
- 2 KOPS At or Below Goal all Month
- 21 Total Members
- 2 KOPS
- 8.50# Net Loss
- 1 KOPS At or Below Goal All Month
- 14 Total Members
- 7 KOPS
- 15.5# Net Loss
- 3 KOPS At or Below Goal All Month
- 21 Total Members
- 3 KOPS
- 4# Net Loss
- 3 KOPS At or Below Goal All Month
I will continue this challenge through 2015 and would love to see a report from each and every one of my 26 chapters each month.
There are only 4 items that you need to report after your last meeting of the month.
- How many active members are there in your chapter?
- For the purpose of this challenge – an “active member” is one who’s TOPS membership is still current – regardless of whether or not they are attending meetings.
- Again, for this challenge, a person can be dropped from your count at the first month after their TOPS membership expired.
- How many of your members were KOPS for the entire month?
- What was the net loss or gain of all the TOPS members in your chapter?
- How many of your KOPS members were at or below goal for the entire month?
AREA WINTER FUNSHOP
Thank you!! Thank You!! To CA9, Burbank, CA77, Sunland. CA139, Northridge, CA515, Santa Clarita, CA572, Quartz Hill, CA764, Chatsworth, CA1844, Los Angeles, CA1900, Northridge and CA2263, Lancaster for taking the time to join us for a day of recognition. As promised, our 2013 California State Queen came to share her story with us. But, we had a surprise visitor – Dan Colby – our 2012 California State King and a Riverside County Area Captain was also in attendance and shared his story with us. As an extra bonus – Rosalee Strong one of the Area Captains from the San Bernardino and Riverside Counties came with them to see how we do these things. Thanks to the enthusiasm of all those who attended, I believe that Dan & Rosalee will be doing FunShops in their areas soon.
Dan and Kathy had a bet going – to see which of them could visit more chapters during their year of reigning royalty (their year is figured from SRD to SRD). The nine chapters represented at this Funshop threw Kathy over the top – and it is only January. She still has until the end of May to jump way out ahead.
We had a busy day. Everyone received a “Thank you for coming” certificate; and several received certificates for the various categories listed on the registration forms.

Members are encouraged to bring little valentine cards (like the ones we passed around back in our school days) to give to each member.
We are also going to have a Chapter “advertisement” Poster contest. As show in the invitation, the rules for the creation of your chapter poster are as follows:
- It should have a “Heart Health” theme
- It should be a positive advertisement for your chapter
- It should show your chapter name…..i.e. CA77, Sunland
- Your chapter meeting time/day and location should be shown on the poster
- The poster should be on a half sheet of regular poster board. Regular poster board is 22” X 28”. So, our poster should be no larger than 22” X 14”.
Chapter visitation schedules have been mailed out. Included with the letter and schedule was the order form for the Plate Panda keychain. Please send your order is as soon as possible so I can have them with me when I visit your chapter. I know that some of you want to see the items before you purchase them….I will have extras for sale when I visit. REMINDER – Chapter Leaders do not need to order one for themselves.
Make 2015 YOUR year!!
Start today to make this your year – not only with your weight loss goals.
We all have things that we are going to do “someday”.
2015 offers each one of us 365 somedays.
Take advantage of a few – or a lot – of them and give yourself the gift of one or more of those “someday” things.
The joy you find from doing so could – possibly – improve your mood and your outlook on life to the point that you will become more inspired and dedicated to reaching those weight loss goals you have set for yourself.
TOPS Love,
Jeanie
