Contribution to VCE / VCAL
VCE: Students who undertake a qualification from the VCE VET Engineering program in 2015 will be eligible for up to four units of credit towards their VCE: two units at Unit 1–2 and a Unit 3–4 sequence.
VCAL: Up to 224 hours of accredited training for the first year of the program; Up to 185 hours of accredited training for the second year of the program.

ATAR Contribution
- Students wishing to receive a study score for this course must undertake scored assessment. This will be conducted at the end of the 2nd Year (3/4 sequence).This consists of three Coursework tasks (66% of overall study score) and examination (34% of overall study score).
Materials:
- Students should have steel toe boots.
- Students should wear full length overalls or work pants and long sleeve shirt.
- Students are to supply writingmaterial (paper and pens).
- All other materials are provided.
Selection guidelines:
- Candidates must complete a SELLEN online application form and submit the form electronically, subject to approval from their parents and VET coordinators.
Pathways:
The Certificate II in Engineeringcan provide a pathway into a Certificate III in Engineering specialising in one of four disciplines:
- Mechanical: Fitter / Maintenance, Automotive General, Diesel, Aviation, Air conditioning and Refrigeration.
- Fabrication: Structural Welding, Pressure Vessel Testing and Fabrication, General Purpose Fabrication
- Technical: Robotics, Design, Computer Numerical Control programming, Computer Aided Design.
- Electrical: Industrial, Domestic / commercial, Telecommunications, Aviation, Automotive
Structured Work Place Learning On-the-Job Training:
