Dear Friends,

God is SOOOOOOO Good!

Praiseto our Father in Heaven who has answered all our prayer requests from our last newsletter.

Sabet did a fantastic job of sharing at Horizon. He was so nervous about speaking in front of such a large audience but the Holy Spirit really flowed through him and touched so many people’s lives. Thank you for praying over us and sharing with us words of encouragement and kindness. It totally boosted our morale and fired us up ready to travel back to Sudan. A special thank you to Don and Jana Garber for hosting our open house and to all those who stopped by to wish us farewell.

Homeward Bound!

Traveling with small children is never easy and satan often messes with our travel plans. Flying out from San Diego was no exception. Our flight was cancelled and we were re-routed through Cincinnati. Sabet was supposed to appear before an immigration officer in Atlanta. There were passengers re-routed through Atlanta but Delta wouldn’t change us. There are only a few airports Sabet could check out from and Cincinnati was not one of them. So on arrival in Cincinnati, Delta flew Sabet to Atlanta, where he had to overnight and fly to London the next day. I flew alone to London with the 2 kids!!

Blessings – We had 4 days scheduled in England so it didn’t affect our flights to Africa. A lady came up to us in the security line at San Diego airport, she’d seen Sabet speak at Horizon and was just visiting her daughter. We chatted and hugged, it was great. On the flight we sat across from a man who had seen us at The Rock church. It was such a neat witness to chat so openly in front of airline staff and passengers. Then on my flight from Cincinnati to London, we had plenty of seats so the kids could sleep. A guy asked me about Sudan (I was wearing my Sudan T-shirt with scripture on it) and then several people around me started to talk to me about our work and asked for information. I gave out a bunch of prayer cards!! Jesus is always at work around us and all these encounters taught me to be more aware of my surroundings. The journey is as important as the destination!

We made it back to Africa with our entire luggage intact, and despite being way over on the baggage allowance, we didn’t have to pay a penny extra.

Immigration Status!

Many of you didn’t even know I had some big immigration issues that could cause me to lose my US residency. I applied for another 2 year travel permit but was advised if I didn’t get it, not to leave the US as I might not get back in. Well I decided to leave WITHOUT checking the status of the application, as it might affect any decisions we made and cause us to worry. If HE takes away my green card I really was OK with it and the odds of me getting another 2 year travel document were slim. So we left in faith and on arrival in England Jeamette called to say she’d received the document and I’m clear for another 2 years. It feels so wonderful to step out in faith and see God bless us for our obedience. He is so faithful!

Back to Tonj!

Within two days of arriving back in Kenya Sabet was on his way to Tonj. Me and the kids plan to meet up with him for a SafeHarbor staff retreat in Uganda mid-February and then we’ll return to Sudan as a family. Sabet found everything OK in Tonj despite our long absence and people are so excited about our Pastors sponsorship program and the short term mission trips we’ll host this year.

“May it be according to your word that you may know that there is no one like the Lord our God.” Exodus 8:10
