Strategist / Planner, Creative Marketing Agency, up to £45,000 + benefits

I am recruiting a Strategist / Planner on behalf of Synergy Creative (Westbury-on-Trym, Bristol BS9). This is a fantastic opportunity to join an award-winning and ambitious creative marketing agency that specialises in brand engagement and employee communications and is (proudly) rated in the top 100 recommended marketing agencies outside of London. Synergy delivers engaging communications campaigns for a host of national and international brands including Vodafone, Aviva, Ladbrokes and ODEON.

The successful Strategist / Planner will be responsible for developing and presenting strategic marketing recommendations, employee engagement ideas and campaign plans for a wide range of clients. You will report into the Account Director and working as part of a client services team you will multi-task across a number of projects in accordance with client briefs and agreed scope of work.

Strategist / Planner, Creative Marketing Agency, responsibilities:

  • Investigating clients’ businesses to develop an in-depth understanding of their product/service offering, understand their vision/objectives and their customers / employees
  • Meeting clients to gain insight / background ahead of preparing marketing plans
  • Researching, gathering and analysing data, suppliedinformationand trends
  • Producing clear, well-informed strategic plans and recommendations to help deliver successful projects and campaigns
  • Organising and attending research groups with employees / customers and preparing reports to summarise findings
  • Inspiring and informing creative teams with insight and innovative ideas to add value and creative flair to creative briefs
  • Engaging with external suppliers and commissioning research from outside Synergy (when appropriate) to assist with campaign planning
  • Keeping up to date with the latest employee engagement and customer experience trends, views and attitudes
  • Generating original ideas (including collaboration with other team members)
  • Presenting findings, conclusions and recommendations to clients
  • Providing inspiring, insight-led ideas and solutions to support new business pitches
  • Identifying potential risks as well as long term opportunities and devising ways to address them
  • Putting in place measurement criteria for projects / campaigns and evaluating their effectiveness, suggesting changes and improvements where necessary

Strategist / Planner, Creative Marketing Agency, Skills and personal qualities:

  • Significant integrated agency experience and excellent knowledge of employee engagement and customer experience (latest thinking, trends, best practice)
  • A proven track record in developing strategic plans that benefit clients
  • A creative and logical thinker with good analytical skills and the ability to think around problems
  • The ability to translate data and make complex subjects easy to understand
  • Confident, persuasive and diplomatic with good written and verbal communication skillsand strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and with a range of clients
  • Effective organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and plan workload effectively over a number of projects and to deadlines
  • The drive to be successful and perform well in all aspects of strategic work
