Indoor Soccer Rules
Four V Four
- Game Duration
- Game will consist of two twelve minute halves
- A coin toss (or equivalent) will be used to determine initial possession. The team winning the toss (or equivalent) will choose to possess ball or side of field.
- Number of Players
- Each team will have no more than six players. Four players are allowed on the field at any one time. There will be NO goalkeeper.
- A player cannot play for two teams. If a team does not have the ability to play with four field players, they can choose to
- Forfeit
- Play short handed
- Goal Scoring
- A goal can only be scored when they are past mid-field
- If a goal is scored from behind mid-field the goal will not count and the other team will take possession at the point of the shot.
- Off-sides
- There are no off-sides
- Substitutions
- Players can substitute on the fly. However, a player cannot come onto the field until the teammate they are replacing is off the field of play. If this results in too many players on the field – a free kick will be awarded to the opposing team.
- Handball
- Calls will be awarded at the discretion of the referee/game facilitator
- If a player intentionally uses their hands to field the ball to prevent a goal, a penalty kick will be award (without a goalie) from ten yards away
- If an intentional handball is made in the field of play, a free kick will be awarded to the opposing team. The defensive team must be about three yards away from the payer kicking the ball.
- NO SLIDING OR SLIDE TACKLING – PERIOD
- Players not acting in accordance with generally acceptable sportsmanship to any teammate, opposing player or game facilitator will not be tolerated.
- Players violating this rule will be asked to leave the game and will not be allowed to return for that game.
- Excessive abuse will result in the player being removed from future games.
- Kick-Ins
- Players will be asked to use FUTSAL related out-of-bounds procedures. In the event the ball is out of the field of play, the ball should be placed at the spot it left the field and kicked into play. The opposing team must be AT LEAST three yards from the kick-in.
- Goal/corner kicks will be awarded by the referee/game facilitator
- Tie-Game
- All regular season games will end as a tie is the score is tied at the end of regulation
- In the FINALS only – the players NOT on the field to end the game will each have an opportunity to shoot twice. In the event a team only has one player not on the field – that player will shoot both penalty kicks.
- Scoring
- Win – 3 points
- Loss – 0 Points
- Tie – 1 Point
- Forfeit – Minus 1 point
- Game jerseys
- The players will wear their red and gray Pelham Soccer Club jerseys. BOTH jerseys should be brought to all games
- If a player does not have the jersey because they are new to the club, the player can wear a red or gray tee shirt to match their team
- If a player does not have the correct color jersey, they will not be able to participate in the game. (if not enough players this could result in forfeit)
- Required equipment
- Shin guards
- Proper uniform
- Red or black soccer shorts only
- Cleats/turf shoes
- Standings
- The highest seeding team will be based on scoring in section 10.
- Tie Breakers
- Head to head first
- Goal differential second
- Soccer Ball
- PLEASE DO NOT BRING BALLS TO THE GAMES – DUE TO THE TIGHT SCHEDULING OF GAMES TIME WILL NOT ALLOW TO SHOOT AROUND BEFORE AND AFTER GAMES
- A SIZE FOUR BALL WILL BE USED FOR ALL GAMES – REGARDLESS OF DIVISION

Guidelines for 7v7 games follow above 4v4 rules except:
- Game Duration
- Game will consist of two twenty-five minute halves
- Number of Players
- Each team will have no more than 11 players. Seven players are allowed on the field at any one time. One of those players will be a goalkeeper. Teams are combined based upon the 4V4 Teams
- Throw-Ins/Corner/Goalie Kick
- Players will be asked to throw the ball into the field of play. No re-do will be granted for a throw that violates the NHSL rules of play
