A motion was made to approve the minutes of the February 8, 2017 meeting as presented.

Secretary Ignazio Cuccia read the legal notice published in Monroe Evening News on February 21, 2017. Twelve(12) property owners were notified for ITEM NO 3Regarding Parcel# 087-005-00 which is located at 1440 North Dixie Highway Monroe, Michigan 48162.

ITEM NO. 3. Buddy-One LLC regarding Parcel #087-005-00.The Applicant has requested a variance from requirements of Township Zoning Ordinance No. 200 Article 21.00 Schedule of Regulations. The Applicant wishes to construct an 80 foot high hotel exceeding the maximum allowable height of 25 feet in a C-3 zoning district.
Chairman Polk opened the public hearing.
Mr. Patel presented on behalf ofBuddy-One LLC. Mr. Patelanswered any questions.
Building Official Joseph Lehmann provided clarity for members that the print submitted was a conceptual drawing.
Member Jack Lindquist questioned the submitted document from Architect asking for Township to waive the two-story height limitation.
Secretary Ignazio Cuccia stated Mr. Patel would need to state his variance is to include a four story height exceeding existing two story limit.
Mr. Patel stated this is his desire for variance to include both height and two story limitations.

A motion was made tograntthevariancesas modified asthey meet the requirements of Article 31.The variance granted as modified is that “No part of the structure or appurtenances shall exceed a height of 62 feet and it shall also not exceed four stories”.
The variances as granted are only valid for the period of 1 year, expiring onMarch 8, 2018.
