1. JOB INFORMATIONJOB TITLE: Mechanical Engineering Team Leader
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
REPORTS TO: Assistant Maintenance Manager
LOCATION: Larne Road, Ballymena
2. JOB PURPOSE
Maintain all equipment in area of responsibility and effectively the lead team within all areas of maintenance work.

4. DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
· Maintain and service all equipment in area of responsibility.
· Effectively manage the maintenance team in line with key company policies & procedures
· To maintain production machinery to ensure operations are running efficiently and effectively.
· Liaise effectively with all departments within the overall factory site.
· Report and disciplinary issues to the Assistant Maintenance Manager.
· To ensure breakdowns are attended immediately, and that machinery is repaired effectively to allow production to continue.
· To minimise breakdowns through preventative maintenance and control
· To assist in maintenance in areas out of personal remit
· Manage all health and safety issues, including job safety training, accident reporting and investigation and hazard training, in particular manage the company hygiene policy to ensure that the specified standards of hygiene and quality are achieved.
· To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business e.g. reduction of waste, recycling etc.
· Carry out and comply with all company policies, procedures and instructions and any other reasonable duties deemed necessary by the company
5. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Essential / Desirable
· NVQ level 3 in Engineering at a minimum
· Previous Electrical experience
· Self-motivated, enthusiastic and willing to take on board new ideas.
· An in-depth knowledge of mechanical (pneumatics, welding and hydraulics) and preferably, electrical activities. / · Previous experience at a managerial level.
· Experience of working within a FMCG, particularly in relation to poultry/meat.
