Tennis
The Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club, founded in 1892 and home to the Davis Cup, is the most important club in the country. Its central court has welcomed such legendary players as Bjorn Borg and Jimmy Connors as well as John McEnroe, Andre Agassi, Guillermo Vilas and Ivan Lendl. The Club installations may be hired to organise a private tennis tournament.
Other tennis venues available. Courts offered will be subject to availability.
Polo
A polo match can be organised at the Hurlingham Club which has some of the best polo fields in Argentina. Just 45 minutes’ drive from the centre of Buenos Aires, the Club was founded in 1888 by the Anglo community led by John Ravenscroft who proposed forming an identical club to the English one in the heart of a predominantly English suburb of Buenos Aires. The Hurlingham Club is an outstanding sports and recreational centre with beautifully cared-for cricket and polo pitches as well as lawn tennis courts and a golf course, radiating out from an elegant Tudor style clubhouse. It is here that the annual Polo Open Tournament is held, bringing together the best local teams to compete for the Cup. The match would consist of two teams, one representing the ‘client’ competing for a trophy. A marquee can be set up by the grounds where guests may be served cocktails as they enjoy the spectacle. The main club house may also be used for lunch or dinner.
Horse racing
The Palermo Racing Track, known as the Hipódromo de Palermo, is a historic reminder of the grandeur of Buenos Aires’ belle époque. The main building, opened in 1876 to crowds of 10.000, with its balustrades, fluted pillars and arched windows is a fine example of neo-classical architecture, while the Official Stand has been declared a historic monument of Buenos Aires.
A particular race may be named after the company and announced in this way, and the winning jockey and/or horse owner would receive the cup or prize at the hands of the company executives or representatives. Corporate guests and representatives would enjoy the exclusive comfort of viewing the race from the Official Stand and lunch in the VIP area afterwards.
The race consists of six breeder horses which will cover a distance of 1600 metres. Both horses and the race itself may be named by the client. The personnel necessary to service the event include the jockey, grooms and stable boys, track chiefs and other track staff, veterinarians and emergency aid services.
Closed-circuit television coverage of the race can be arranged, as well as a video-recording
