JOB DESCRIPTION:TRAINER (UI)

CORPORATE INFORMATION

  1. Position Level:Trainer (80 casual, short term positions located throughout Fiji)
  2. Salary Range:FJ$150 (inclusive of FNPF & Tax) per 4 hour training

FJ$300 (inclusive of FNPF & Tax) per 8 hour training

  1. Duty Station:80 Positions available, located throughout Fiji. No housing or relocation expenses payable, applicants must nominate their preferred area of work. Travel will be required within a Division / Province.
  2. Reporting Responsibilities;

a)Reports To:Manager Fijian Electoral Education Centre

b)Liaises with:Director Operations, Election Coordinators,Operations Officers

c)Subordinates:Nil

POSITION PURPOSE

The position delivers training to Election Officials throughout Fiji.

KEY DUTIES

The position will achieve its purpose through the following key duties. Working with relevant FEO staff, in accordance with legislative requirements and the operational timing of the General Election:

  1. Contribute to the final proof of material for training of Election Officials;
  2. Contribute to the Training Plan for the training of Election Officials;
  3. Deliver training to Election Officials in accordance with the approved curricula and materials;
  4. Assess and evaluate training delivered to Election Officials and provide reports back to the Manager Fijian Electoral Education Centre on results and progress.
  5. Provide administrative support to the Election Officials Recruitment Officer as an when required;

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Performance will be measured through the following indicators:

  1. Quality training programs run, assessed and evaluated in accordance with the curricula and the Training Plan;
  2. Reports provided on training run, results achieved by participants and evaluation of the program.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

The Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities required to successfully undertake this role are:

Knowledge and Experience

  1. Formal training as an Adult Trainer (Training of Trainers[TOT], Teacher Training Certificate, Workplace Trainer or equivalent) is required;
  2. At least 3years experiencedeliveringwork place based education and / or training programs;
  3. Understanding of adult learning principles with a sound knowledge of training techniques and methods for delivering workplace training to suit different participant levels and needs;
  4. Excellent training delivery skills and the ability to communicate with people from a wide range of backgrounds, education levels and experience;
  5. Understanding of electoral processes and the skills required to deliver successful elections;
  6. Understanding of the Fijian Constitution (2013) and applicable electoral and media laws of Fiji;
  7. Understanding of teams and how to effectively work as part of a team;
  8. Knowledge of Fijian protocols, culture and customs;

Skills and Abilities

  1. Excellent training delivery skills and the ability to communicate with people from a wide range of backgrounds, education levels and experience;
  2. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and tofollow instructions to meet tight and immovable deadlines;
  3. Ability to assess learners and provide substantiated reports to management on training assessment results;
  4. Ability to evaluate training and to provide reports to management on evaluation conducted;
  5. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and neutrality, in a sensitive environment;
  6. Service oriented approach, with a commitment to supporting the operational / corporate environment of the organisation.

Personal Character and Political Neutrality
