Problem with Malaria

Deep in the middle of the humid rainforest, something strange was happening. BANG! At that very moment it happened again…

Strangely enough this kept on happening. All the tribes had a good idea of what was going on because the nabe had been before. But this time, it went on for longer. Of course they thought it was the nabe who were taking their trees.

The morning was passing on quickly and the yanomoni tribe still did not know what to do. As the sun set, Rebecca the chief had a meeting in the shade of the yano.

Rebecca said “someone will have to go out and get a new village.” No one wanted to go. Late that evening the mums and dads decided what had to be done. “We must move from the rainforest” they declared. We must move to England. That night it was not as silent as usual. Early that morning when Fabie, Alejandro and Sin (their pet monkey) got back from their morning stroll they did not agree with the adults. They wanted to stay in the rainforest. The next day Fabie was trying to have a late morning in her hammock but she didn’t. Mum burst in and that woke her up all right! Mum was followed by, dad, Alejandro (sin) and aunts and uncles. Rikomi has got ill with malaria. So some of our cousins have gone out to find some vine bark to help cure the malaria.

Whilst the cousins were out looking for vine bark, a huge spotty thing ran past them. “It’s a Jaguar” shouted one of the cousins in alert. They continued to search for vine bark. They found some at last at the very top of the rainforest. “Phew we have found some at last and need to return immediately” said the second cousin. They sprinted back to the yano with the vine bark.

Mum and dad shouted “thankfully you are here at last!” Quickly mum turned the vine bark into some medicine and gave it to Rikomi in his hammock. Eventually the vine bark worked and made Rikomi well again and all was well with the tribe. They decided not to move to England but stay in the rainforest for as long as they could.
