6) BRIEF RESUME OF THE INTENDED WORK;

6.1) NEED FOR STUDY

Garbhashaya (the kshetra) is one of the four factors for garbha utpatti and normal development of garbha. ‘Garbhashaya’ is the eighth ashaya present in stree shareera.1

Fibromyoma is one of the major ailments suffered by women during their reproductive period of life. As there is no precise remedy for the particular ailment hence surgical removal is considered as the only alternative in western medicine. This may affect the overall health of the women. So a possible conducive Ayurvedic remedial procedure has to be sorted out.

As there are no precise descriptions regarding this disease in Ayurvedic samhitas, there is a need to understand the samprapti of this disease. The understanding of dosha-dushya samoorchana is very much essential in diagnosis and treatment according to Ayurveda. In this regard the knowledge of Garbhashaya Shareera plays a vital role. As there are minimal studies regarding ashaya concept of garbhashaya as well as about the uterine fibromyoma the current topic is taken for the study.

6.2) REVIEW OF LITERATURE

§  References of garbhashaya related to its formation, 2 location 3, structure4 and pathology available in classics.
