MINUTES FOR THE REGULAR MEETINGOF BIG VALLEY VILLAGE COUNCIL

HELD THIS 26th DAY OF MARCH, 2015 AT 6:30PM

CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Knudson called the meeting to order at 6:30pm.

AGENDA ADDITIONS AND APPROVAL:

RES 15-11-029“that the agenda be adoptedwith the following amendment: delete item 8.c. Tax Recovery reserve bid; add items 8.i nuisance yard complaint; 8.j. council meeting time; 8.k. tablets for Council.” CARRIED

RES 15-11-030“that the minutes ofthe regular Council meeting of February 26, 2015 are adopted as presented.” CARRIED

VISITORS AND DELEGATIONS – none

OLD BUSINESS:

Local Attraction Signage – A list of local attractions to be advertised was confirmed. Locations for the sign posts were also decided.

Logo – Council directed administration to contact the Johnston family to discuss the proposed Use of Village Logo policy. The policy is tabled pending the outcome of the above referenced discussion.

Councillor Johnson requested a recorded vote regarding a motion to ban replica guns from the Village:

Minimum Tax Levy – Request to have minimum tax levy reduced for lots with no water, sewer services or street access is denied.

Tablets – Councillor Miller will research tablet options for use by Council and present a report for Council to consider at a future meeting.

COMMITTEE BOARD REPORTS:

MAYOR KNUDSON: March 23, Stettler Ambulance meeting. Alberta Health Services will be contacting the Village to discuss certification levels for Fire Department members.

COUNCILLOR MILLER: Stettler Housing Authority, several meetings due to an emerging situation. A letter of response will be coming regarding concerns expressed by the Village re: the condition of the Valley Villa sidewalks.

COUNCILLOR JOHNSON:Village Council would like to congratulate Zeke Thurston on his recent win in Houston!
