Requirements:
4 members to a team
One member must be a girl (or a boy age 12 or under)
$100 per team
Each team must have some matching article of clothing. Example: t-shirt, bandanna, pink hat
All teams must be present one hour before rodeo. Captain must attend rules meeting before each rodeo.
TEAM PENNING:
Ø All 4 team members participate.
Ø When the first rider crosses the line, the time will start and the calf number will be called.
Ø Pen 3 calves with the same number in the roping box with no other calves in the box and time will stop.
Ø There will be a 3 minute time limit.
TEAM BRANDING:
Ø All 4 team members participate.
Ø When the first rider crosses the line, the time will start.
Ø One calf must be roped by any team member.
Ø Any team member or combination of team members must throw the calf.
Ø The calf must be on its side when the brand comes out of bucket.
Ø The calf must be branded while on the ground.
Ø The rope must be off the calf before brand is returned to bucket.
Ø The time stops when the brand is returned to the bucket.
Ø There will be a 3 minute time limit.
BARREL RACING:
Ø All 4 members of each team will participate.
Ø One member will ride a horse.
Ø Other 3 members will stand in place of barrels—must hold onto the barrel stake (rope).
Ø The horse and rider will complete the standard barrel pattern.
Ø There will be a “no time” for any person knocked loose of rope.
Ø There will be a “no time” if the pattern is broken.
PONY EXPRESS RACE:
Ø All 4 members compete.
Ø More than 1 team will compete at same time.
Ø Each member makes complete lap around arena.
Ø Riders must hand off the pony express “mail” between 1st and 3rd barrels.
Ø Time stops when last members crosses line.
Ø There will be a “no time” if you drop the mail.
BARREL PICK-UP:
Ø All 4 members of each team will participate.
Ø Two members are ON the barrel.
Ø Two members rides 2 horses around barrel and partners get on the back of horse.
Ø The partners must get on behind the barrel and both members must be straddle of the horse when crossing the time line.
Ø A “no time” will result if barrel is knocked down.
WILD MULE RIDE:
Ø All 4 team members participate.
Ø Rope is on the mule in the shoot and members can hold rope at all times.
Ø The members of each team must saddle the mule.
Ø After saddled, one rider must ride the mule around 2 barrels to finish line.
Ø There is a 3 minute time limit.
SLED RACE:
Ø All 4 members must participate.
Ø 1 man on horse/1 man on sled pulls sled to 3rd barrel; 2nd man rides 1 full lap back to 3rd barrel; 3rd man rides sled to finish line.
In the event of a tie at the end of the rodeo in the final standings, 1 event will be drawn from a hat and the tied teams will compete again in this event. The points will be distributed the same, and the winner of that place will be determined by this event.
Points for Each Event:
Ø 1st through 4th places will be awarded points in each event.
Ø Points will be posted on website: www.randrodeo.com
Rand Rodeo Co. will have a series of 5 Ranch Rodeos.
High point team after all 5 Ranch Rodeos will receive Champion Buckles.
Each team will designate a team Captain.
The Captain must attend all 5 Ranch Rodeos for that team to be eligible for buckles.
The Captain is responsible for rules and to explain the rules to team members.
ALL DECISIONS OF JUDGE ARE FINAL!
