T10 Report - November 27, 2000
T10 met last in Monterey, CA, on Thursday November 2, 2000 with 45 people
present. Membership is now at 42 voting organizations.
ANSI BSR has approved SPI-3, which will be published soon as
NCITS.336:2000.
NCITS has approved SCSI Enclosure Services (SES) Amendment #1, which is at
ANSI BSR for approval.
The resolution of the comments from the first FCP-2 letter ballot was
approved and, due to the extensive changes, a second letter ballot on
forwarding FCP-2 was issued. This letter ballot closes December 21st.
About two-thirds of the SPC-2 letter ballot comments have proposed
resolutions.
Hopes for a letter ballot on forwarding SST were dashed by an editing
session that found substantial issues. It will be quicker to resolve these
issues prior to the letter ballot.
The SCSI VI Protocol (SVP) was renamed SCSI RDMA Protocol (SRP) to reflect
that the protocol works for more than Virtual Interface, in particular
InfiniBand (tm).
A new project was approved on Serial Bus Protocol - 3 (SBP-3).
The next plenary meeting of T10 will be January 18, 2001 in Lake Buena
Vista, CA at the Grosvenor Resort (407-828-4444), hosted by Adaptec. The
meeting will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. Several ad hoc meetings are
also scheduled:
