Agreement for Tier 4/PBS dependant application

All registered and prospective International students with a CAS for Newcastle University/INTO Newcastle/Newcastle University London are eligible to submit applications for an extension of their student leave to remain through the Visa Team subject to the following conditions:

  • Applicants must be bona-fide, registered at Newcastle University/INTO Newcastle/ Newcastle University London or must have a CAS for study at Newcastle University issued within 6 months of the visa application date;
  • Applicants must attend a Tier 4 visa workshop at Newcastle University/INTO Newcastle/ Newcastle University London at least 8 weeks before their visa expiry date;
  • Applicants should read carefully the conditions set out on the ‘Visa renewalapplication agreement’ before agreeing to those terms;
  • Applicants should ensure that their applications forms are correctly completed according to the guidance given at a Tier 4 visa workshopand that they have all the relevant supporting documents before submitting applications through the Visa Team. Applicants should ensure that they have read and understood the Tier 4 Policy Guidance prior to submission of their application. The Visa Advisers have the right to refuse to submit documentation which they suspect of being fraudulent;
  • Applicants MUSTensure that photocopies are made of their documents/passports are made before submitting an application;
  • No applications may be submitted through the Visa Team for visas which have already expired;
  • The Visa Team will check applications in accordance with information and documents provided by applicants and will submit applications on that basis. This does not, however, guarantee the success of an application. The decision on applications rests solely with the Home Office;
  • Tier 4 applications can take up to 12 weeks from the date of biometric data collection to be processed. The Visa Team has no control over this and cannot speed the process up.
  • The Visa Advisers bear no responsibility for passports/documents lost in transit through Royal Mail or BRP cards lost through DX. The Visa Advisers do not accept any responsibility for documents lost by the Home Office;
  • Where a visa application is refused, the applicant will be referred for specialist external immigration advice. There may be a fee for external advice.

The Visa Team will:
  • Provide regular visa workshops;
  • Provide individual appointments
for applicants to submit applications;
  • Check applications and supporting documents
and amendments;
  • Post applications to the Home Officeby special delivery;
  • Liaise with the Home Office with regards to queries on applications and update applicants
accordingly;
  • E-mail students to advise on the return
of passport/documents/BRP cards;
  • Follow up cases where mistakes may
have been made by the Home Office. / The Student will:
  • Ensure that they have not exceeded the relevant Tier 4 time limit as outlined in the published Tier 4 policy guidance;
  • Attend a visa workshop at least 8 weeks before his/her visa is about to expire;
  • Collect all documents as outlined at the workshop noted above and requested by the Home Office;
  • Complete the relevant online application form and provide a printed pdf to the Visa Team;
  • Ensure appropriate funds are available for payment of the application fee and IHS fee;
  • Read conditions outlined on Visa renewal

personal details and sign to accept conditions;
  • Keep photocopies of all documents submitted;
  • Make an appointment for submission at least
5 working days before visa expiry date and attend at time specified with all necessary documents;
  • Check university e-mails daily and respond promptly;
  • Inform Visa Advisers of any change of circumstances;
  • Attend a biometric appointment/ interview as required by the Home Office;
  • Collect passports and BRP cards from Level 2, King’s Gate without delay when requested to do so by the Visa Team
