New executive chair model and table formats join Graph family
The Graph range, designed by jehs + laub, has fast become a bestseller in the segment of well designed, premium conference furniture.Since early 2016 Wilkhahn’s portfolio has included new chair models. Five-star bases and precision-adjustable seating heights make them ideal for executive offices. The range of Graph table systems has also been increased. The four new, 230-cm-deep formats provide space for 16, 18, 20 and 22 people.
Bad Münder.Designers Markus Jehs and Jürgen Laub came up with the Graph chair and table series. And it’s hard to think of another range that has caused quite such a stir in the world of exclusive conference furniture. In production since March 2012, it has been continually developed and attracted major international design prizes. But although expert opinion is crucial, ultimately it’s the customers’ response that really counts. To date, 12,000 of the luxurious chairs have been sold. Its fans come from all different industries and all continents and number real-estate developers inAustralia to major banks in Japan, to consultancies and industrial companies in Europe and the US.
From conference spaces to executive offices
Although Graph chairs look seamless, they have a modular structure with frame, seat and backrest connected via the armrests. As a result, just a few modifications are required to produce different model designs. Therefore, it seemed logical to respond to requests for a model with precision-adjustable height that could be used in executive offices too.
The designers created a five-star base which complies with current anti-tilt standards. It’s made of die-cast aluminium with load-dependent-braking twin castors. At the same time, the angle of the five legs was reduced to allow more space for the swivel-mounted column which is adjustable via the gas lift.Minimal modifications were required to integrate the height-adjustment mechanism with the Y-shaped seat bearer. And the lever looks as stylish as a long espresso spoon. An extra mechanism for the seat wasn’t needed. In combination with the plush, sprung upholstery, the elastic connectors at the front and the leaf spring at the back provide superbly comfortable flexibility anyway.
Graph tables – now for up to 22 people
The Graph tables coordinate perfectly with the chairs. The curved and flat profile of the sloping table legs continues seamlessly in the aluminium underframes, conveying a weightless elegance.Although modular, each configuration looks like a dedicated design, an impression underscored by the curved table edges and the shapes of the table tops.
In addition to the rounded square and the up to 150-centimetre-deep oval formats, new additions to the range are the 230-centimetre-deep oval formats in widths of 540, 620, 700 and 780 centimetres for 16 to 22 people. The existing 150-centimetre-deep models can also be extended by adding 160 and 240-centimetre extension leaves.Similarly to the previous formats, power can be supplied to the new table sizes via single table portals and cable channels that are both functional and attractive.Architects in particular will appreciate the wider range of table formats. After all, the practical size increments allow integration with a variety of room shapes and floor plans.
The new Graph chair models are available in two backrest heights, optionally with or without seating height adjustment. The additional table formats come with varnished surfaces, or with genuine-wood veneers.
All new products can be ordered as of immediate effect and are available within standard lead times.
