FIFA League Rules

I. Sportsmanship

A) Sportsmanship:The Soccer Lot (TSL) and KC Crew, LLC ("KCC") is dedicated to provide a safe and fun sporting environment. All participants should keep this in mind when becoming involved. Although the games may become intense, you all can be competitive while maintaining good sportsmanship. Any behavior deemed unacceptable by the KCC or TSL staff may result in suspension and/or ejection from a game or the league. Each game will have at least 1 paid official. Abuse of officials, referees, opposing players and other KCC or TSL staff will not be tolerated. TSL or KCC will not tolerate fighting! Fighting will be an automatic ejection from any game and in most cases ejection from the league for the remainder of the season. Any behavior deemed unacceptable by KCC or TSL staff may result in a game suspension and/or ejection from the league.

  1. If a player touches another player physically, inappropriately or with intent to harm, despite who may be "right or wrong", they will be immediately ejected from the game.
  2. On their second offense they will be removed from the season with no refund.
  3. On a third offense they will be removed from the season with no refund and banned from the league.
  4. Remember, this is for fun. No one is going to become a professional by playing in our leagues. Anyone exuding douchebaggery, rudeness or overwhelming ignorance will be ejected and possibly removed from the league as these actions eliminate fun for everyone else.

II. Fundamentals

A) Field of Play

  1. A table with 4 seats will be available for all players to sit or stand at.

B) Equipment

  1. Consoles and games will be provided by The Soccer Lot. It is the responsibility of the players to bring their own controller

C) Teams

  1. Team will consist of two players
  2. Players must play the whole half without switching.
  3. Teams must play as the same team for the entirety days’ match.

D) Game Duration

  1. Each match will consist of two games.
  2. Each game will consist of two 6 minute halves.
  3. If a game ends in a tie, it will be recorded as a tie with no extra time, until tournament play.
  4. During tournament play, if a game is tied at the end of regulation, teams will play two full periods of extra me and then go into PKs if the game is still tied.
  5. All games are self officiated
  6. KCC or The Soccer Lot employees will record goals (for and against) for league stats and social videos.

E) The Start of Play

  1. Team Captains will play a game of paper, rock, scissors to determine which side is home for their game (either doubles or split half single play).
  2. The team who loses paper, rock, scissors will be home for the other game.
  3. If both teams are playing as the same club, captains must agree to rock, paper, scissors to decide who changes to a different team in the provided list.

F) The Game

  1. The first game will be a doubles match. Both players on the same team play at the same me.
  2. The second match the team captains must determine who plays which half.
  3. Each team captain will write down which player on their team will be playing for each half on a sheet of paper. A KCC or Soccer Lot employee will then read off which players will be playing for each half.
  4. Players must play the entire half.
  5. At the conclusion of the match the result will be recorded.
  6. Each game is a separate result.
  7. Only teams from the provided list may be used.
  8. Handballs will be turned off.

G) League Standings

  1. Each match is a separate result.
  2. 3 points will be awarded for a win.
  3. 1 point will be awarded for a tie.
  4. 0 points will be awarded for a loss.
  5. If teams are tied in the standings the tie breaker will go as follows
  6. Head to head
  7. Best goal differential
  8. Most goals scored
  9. Fewest goals allowed
  10. Rock, Paper, Scissors
  11. League standings will determine tournament seeding

III. Forfeits

A)Forfeits

  1. Teams have until 10 minutes past the designated start time to arrive at their area.
  2. If a team doesn’t show in me, a win will be recorded to the team present with the score being an 3-0 win.
  3. If both teams agree to play without the minimum or more than maximum required, KCC or TSL Officials must be made aware.
  4. TSL & KCC Officials will make every effort to complete a forfeited game with a mixed set of remaining players.
  5. If your team is going to forfeit a game, call our office (816-599-3637) or email to help us schedule your opponent’s a game. This does not mean that your team will not receive the loss and a forfeit.
  6. First Offense - Loss of game and warning issued
  7. Second Offense - Loss of game and TSL and KCC reserves the right to remove team from playoffs
  8. Final offense is loss of game and removal from the league with no refund

IV. Tournament

A) RSVP

  1. An RSVP request will be sent to all team captains before the tournament asking if their team will be attending.
  2. At the time of the RSVP, a $30 forfeit fee will be due.
  3. If your team RSVPs, then backs out of the tournament after the brackets are released or does not show up to the tournament the $30 forfeit fee will be given to the team your team was supposed to play.
  4. Not RSVPing and not paying the $30 forfeit fee means your team will not be attending and will not be included in the tournament bracket.

B) Players

  1. Rosters will be checked at the beginning of games.
  2. Players are only allowed to play on one team during the tournament unless they payed to play on two teams during the regular season, then they may play on both teams during the tournament. a. If your teams play each other, you must choose which team you want to play on for that game.
  3. If a team is short a player and has a sub, this must be approved by KCC prior to the start of the tournament.
