Cover-Up in Texas:

The Bobby Reed Story

Fired for Speaking "Truth to Power" about "smart" meter Fires

Excerpted from email sent received from member of Stop Smart Meters San Antonio:

On Sept. 23, ’14, I spoke with Michael Simmons, Assistant Fire Marshall for Dallas County. I told him i was surprised that I have not been able to find more online about smart meter related fires in Texas, especially due to all the smart meter fires in North America, ( most recently in PA, Oregon, Canada, and Reno). As you may know, in Reno, a smart meter was linked to a house fire that killed a 61 yr. old woman.. Michael Simmons said he believes there is a cover-up going on in Texas with regard to smart meter related fires.
Then I spoke with Bobby Reed in Dallas, who said he was terminated from his job with ONCOR Electric in Dallas after testifying about smart meters. (he was a first responder troubleshooter, and in Oct. 2012 he testified about smart meters.) In Jan. of 2013 they terminated him for giving 'false testimony' and said he had no evidence of these meters causing fires.
He said they hired a bunch of young folks to install smart meters from '08-'12… and when he'd get a call from the customer, and the call center would dispatch him, he'd go to the houses and troubleshoot the meter… he would trace the problem back to the meter.. ..anytime he'd go to a person's house it might be partial power - it would be routine to go to the meters first, ….he started noticing that on alot of the tickets he was getting, the lugs were heating up (burning up) (he's seen them completely burned up) there were two at his trial that came from Houston that were badly burned … he went to trial to file an unfair labor practice… the board said yes, they have a charge,.. so within a month from now, hopefully he'll get his job back.
He's still a Union Rep. - he lost his job at the power company… Union Reps go on a leave of absence, and he's in an elected position.. his retirement ceased to accrue. He told me about Arlington and Lancaster fires.… He gave me Michael Simmons' name with the Dallas County Fire Marshals' office :
He installed the 'smart' meters and noticed the meter bases were heating up alot : loose connections :

Oncor has had lawsuits for fires - two in Arlington TX. - they were settled out of court so it won’t show up. Michael C. Simmons - Dallas County Assistant Fire Marshall testified in Bobby's hearing, was aware of the fires in Arlington and testified in those cases… He is aware of two other fires in Lancaster TX. attributed to smart meters.

The city of Arlington stopped deployment for weeks after the fires. Bobby Reed said it's a big cover-up - he said 'the big $$$ is corrupt'.
Bobby is the President of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers union in the DFW area - He worked for Oncor and testified before the PUC about how many meters he had to change out due to melting, he contacted the union boss in Houston and they were seeing the same problems - you should be able to see his testimony on the PUC hearing site from September of 2012 and April, or May of 2013.

P.S. last week, Michael Simmons called to inform me that Bobby Reed’s job has been reinstated.
