Conditions of Entry:

  • Must be a female not younger than 19 years of age and not older than 24 years of age as of August 1, 2016
  • Must possess a current passport valid for at least 6 months after crowning and include a copy of your current passport with your entry form.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen.
  • Must be a current Alberta resident and have been a resident of Alberta for a minimum of the last 12 months.
  • Must not be married or have children.
  • Must agree to reside within 100 km of Stampede Park. Your place of employment or educational institution must also meet this requirement.
  • Must have received a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a current, valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle.
  • Must not have a criminal record and must consent to a security check.
  • Must be able to demonstrate competent horseback riding ability by submitting one of the following with your application:
  • A basic video online, in USB or DVD format (3 minutes maximum) demonstrating a mount, dismount, walk, trot, lope and figure eight on a horse of your choice. Please label your video content on DVD or USB with your full name to ensure it is attached to your application. If submitted on DVD or USB, the video is not returnable.

OR

  • A copy of the form letter at this link: to your equestrian skills and abilities, signed and initialed by a bona fide equestrian trainer
  • These materials are only to prove your safety and competence when riding a horse, and will not be judged.

Judging:

  • During the contest, you will be assessed by a panel of approximately 15-20 judges.
  • Calgary Stampede Directors, management and employees, as well as members of the Royalty Committee and their spouses, are ineligible to judge.
