English/Writing Tutor

This job is a part time, non-benefited, FLSA non - exempt position in the Academic AffairsDivision that reports to the Program Director, Learning Support.

Hours:Up to 19 hours per week.

Salary:Targeted salary is $15.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstration of subject competence required. Ability to listen to students and focus their attention. Ability to explain English and writing concepts. Excellent oral communication skills. Ability to form good working relationships with peers and students. Ability to work with diverse student backgrounds. Ability to coach study skills and behavior toward successful course completion.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in specific discipline or related field. Previous tutoring experience.

Job Description Summary:

Aid students in understanding English/Writing concepts introduced to them in the courses offered at Gwinnett Technical College.

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:

  7. Performs other duties as assigned in the fulfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of Gwinnett Technical College.
