Step 3: Paper
When your community connection hours have been completed, you will need to write a Culminating Project Paper as outlined below.
Goals:
- Demonstrate the ability to write a professional, reflective essay.
- Define growth of learning in relation to community service over your entire high school career.
Audience:
- Your audience is your Careers Class teacher, parents, administrators, or community members who will be attending your Student Led Conference.
Format:
- 12-point font, Times New Roman, Double-Spaced, 1 inch margins
- 3-5 pages, 3 FULL pages minimum
Task:
- Write a 3-5 page reflective paper on how your community service has impacted your post-secondary plan. Be sure to include:
- a description of your community service experiences and how these experiences have impacted you and the community, (give three examples and elaborate).
- an analysis of how the community service experience relates to your post-secondary plan, (give three ways and elaborate) and
- a meaningful link between experiences and self, (give three meaningful links or three ways it was meaningful).
Due Dates:
Mid February – First Draft of your paper is DUE

Step 4: Senior Presentation – May 2014
Your Senior presentation will take place during student-led conferences in May, 2013. In your 15-20 minute presentation, you must include a multi-media component (PowerPoint, video, poster board, demonstration, etc.) During your presentation, you will discuss your growth and goals in the following areas: (Use the questions below to help guide your presentation).
