About the Course

This course aims to introduce you to most of the aspects of how a venturer unit is run. You will learn about the role of the Venturer leader, Unit chair, Unit Secretary and Unit Treasurer, learn how the unit council works and learn a bit about setting a unit program. Among other activities on the day you will also work through the award scheme badge approval process.

The course is run as a practical day – you will learn by doing. The success of the day will depend on the attitude of the venturers. The course leaders will attempt to make the day fun and enjoyable, the rest is up to you. During the day you will have the opportunity to learn not only from the material presented in the course but from participation in activities and from the relationships you form with the other participants. At the end of the course you should be able to participate more actively in the running of your own unit.

Your feedback on the course is welcome, and will actually be requested.

Venturer Leaders

The course involves the assistance of a number of Venturer Leaders – usually 1 Leader for every 6 Venturers.

You must wear full uniform at the opening and closing ceremony.
No uniform, no certificate!!

You can change into something more comfortable for the rest of the course.
