5. Venue.

The Event Center will be located at Hotel Madona in Madona Town. The World Cup Event will be held in Vidzeme Height, where the highest hill of Latvia - Gaiziņš is situated.

The World Cup competition races will take place at Mailes Sports Centre in Vietalva(37 km from Event centre), and the Smeceres Sils Cross-Country / Biathlon Sports Centre in Madona (2 km from Event centre).

Exception.

WCup and WMOC competitiors are allowed to participate in Latvian cross-country skiing competition on December 17th – 18th 2005 in Mailes, Vietalva.

NB! Skiing is allowed on prepared cross-country ski-tracks only! Any use of local orienteering map is strictly forbidden!

7. Classes and participation restrictions.

World Cup (WCup) classes are M 21 and W 21. According to IOF rules each federation may enter a team of 14 competitors (7 women, 7 men) and unlimited number of team officials.

In each individual competition each federation may enter up to 6 men and 6 women. In relay competition each federation may enter up to 2 male and 2 female teams, each consisting of 3 competitors.

8. Weather and climate.

Madona and Vietalva areas are situated at 100-200m above the sea level. In February the average temperature is minus 7 degrees by Celsius. The average snow depth is 20 cm.

9. Last date for entries in the 2nd round of World Cup 2006.

Final entries (on Entry form B) shall reach the organiser no later than on January 1st 2006 giving:

-number of competitors of each gender

-number of relay teams

-number of team officials

-category and number of accommodation

-team manager`s name, addresss, and telephone numbers, e-mail

Name list (on Name list entry form) shall reach the organiser no later than on January 18th 2006 giving:

11. Entry fees for competitors and team officials.

Entry fee for the competitors EUR 120.- / person & 3 competitions /.

Entry fee for the officials EUR 25.- /person/.

Fees include transportation from the hotel to the competitions, model event on February, 1st, opening ceremony, maps and the banquet.

In case of participation in one or two competitions, the entry fee is EUR 45.- /person & 1 competition/.

The latest date for the payment of the entry fee is January, 10th 2006.

12. Types and costs of accommodation and meals in Madona.

Accommodation fee for competitors and team officials is calculated from February 1st, 13:00 until February 6th. Extra accommodation is available at additional fee given per night.

14. Maps, Scales, vertical contour intervals.

Maps: new ski-orienteering maps printed with laser jet.

Middle distance and Relay 1:10000

Sprint 1:5000

Vertical contour intervals 5m

15. Details of competition terrains.

Forest with average passability, height diference in the terrain up to 50 metres in each competition day. In both competition terrains deep depressions are the most typicall contour features. Typical slopes are up to 40 metres in height and quite steep. The competition areas are forested by 85-90%. There is a network of permanent cross-country/biathlon ski-tracks in both terrains. Tracks network is rather dense.

16. EMIT electronic punching system. NEWS

Emit touch free punching system will be used in all competitions. The system will be available for testing during the WCup training in Vuokatti on January 16th or 17th(shall be specified).

Only the e-cards provided by the organizers are accepted. The organizers will provide the e-cards for the teams upon their arrival to the event centre. There is a EUR 80 replacement fee for lost e-cards.

The transportation schedule to all events will be published after December 20th 2005.
