Dear Parents,

Visit by Harriet Goodman
We welcomed Harriet on Thursday morning where she talked to pupils of KS2 on her work as a children’s author, which the children found very enlightening. The visit cumulated in Harriet personalising copies of her books. We would like to express our thanks to Harriet for joining us for a very informative and enjoyable morning and wish her continued success.
Sports News
High 5 netball competition – well done to the pupils who participated in the finals of the Staffordshire School Games Level 3 County High 5 Netball 2017. Although we were unsuccessful in obtaining any medals, the children are to be congratulated for their enthusiasm and commitment – they are great ambassadors for the school.
World Book Day – Thursday, 2nd March
We shall once again be participating in World Book Day. Many activities are planned throughout the week and we are asking children to bring to school, in a box decorated as they like, filled with items/pictures etc. of their favourite book to share with others. We would also like children to bring in photographs of themselves reading in strange/unusual places. To coincide with World Book Day, we are holding a Book Fair in school on 6th, 7th, and 8th March where all the children will be able to use their £1 book tokens which will have been distributed. On the day itself (2nd March) we invite the children to dress up as a character from film/book. We shall also be holding a ‘book swap’ after school. Mrs. Jillings will also be providing a special ‘book theme menu’ on this day – details are printed overleaf. / Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers 2017
Please continue to forward any vouchers into school. The equipment received enables the children to have additional indoor and outdoor games and activities used by all the pupils throughout school. Thank you.
