LAST DAY OF SUMMER READING
Children & Teen Scavenger Hunt Day at the library – drop in between 9-5 to play!

Summer is coming and so, it’s time to get ready for your next vacation. If you’re thinking about traveling outside of the United States, the library can help! Not only does the library offer a variety of books and DVD’s to help you plan your activities, we can help you get there!

The Hemet library offers passport execution services. The processing of your passport could take six to eight weeks, so those traveling this summer should be considering getting your passport executed very soon! You have options; depending on where you are traveling you can purchase a Passport Book or a Passport Card. A Passport card is good if you are traveling across the border to Mexico or Canada or if you are cruising. And, it’s only $30 for adults 16 and older or $15 for children 15 years and younger. If you’re taking a bigger trip overseas or flying you will need a Passport book. The cost for the book is $110 for those 16 and older and $80 for those 15 and under. The adult book and card are valid for a period of ten years, while the child’s book and card are valid for five years.

To schedule an appointment with a passport agent at the Hemet Library please call the library at 951-765-2440 and choose option 3 for reference and information. Appointments are available Wednesday through Saturday, 9:30am to 5:30pm. Make sure you bring your filled out application, picture ID, a passport photo, proof of citizenship (either a birth certificate or naturalization certificate) and a check or money order. For more information about U.S. passports visit the State Department’s website at:
