Part 1/7: Important Information

1. Online Application Process

All applications must be submitted through this online application form only.Emailed or faxed applications will not be accepted. If you are having difficulty using this form, please contact us for assistance.

This online application form is designed to be completed in one sitting. For this reason, we recommenddownloading the working copywhich is in Word document format before beginning the online form. Once you have gathered all your information in the working copy, allow approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete the online version.

Only use the provided Previous and Next buttons to navigate through the steps of your online application. Do not use the browser's back button, as you will lose the information you have already inputted.

3. ArtStarts Showcase: Rubric for Assessing Artist Applications

Download and review the rubric used to access all applications. Please note that Showcase artist applications are assessed by a jury made up of artists and educators. The following criteria form the basis of their assessment.

NOTE: Your application will be reviewed by individuals who may know nothing about your practice or your show. Please be sure to present your information in a clear and concise manner to aid with the jury's selection process. Applications that score 6/9 or higher will be considered for Showcase.

Part 2/7: Application Checklist

Note: Fees are based on a schedule of two performances per day. If you are applying with a full-day touring workshop, remember that you are only able to offer one per day. If you are unsure about an appropriate fee range, please feel free to consult with the Program Manager.

Part 5/7: Application Materials

Video

Video requirements:

·  Must be 5-10 minutes long.

·  Must be an online video (e.g. YouTube or Vimeo). DVDs will NOT be accepted.

·  Must showcase the performance you hope to present in schools.

·  Performances held in front of school audiences are preferred.

·  Must be a live recording.

·  Pre-recorded music over footage will not be accepted.

·  Exceptions apply to artists currently on ArtStarts’ Artists on Tour Directory, and professional theatre companies with new shows in early stages of production.

This video will be used to:

·  Understand the expression of your art form.

·  Assess whether your performance is rehearsed and refined.

·  Assess your stage presence and ability to sustain audience engagement.

Part 7/7: Payment and Next Steps

Final decisions will be shared via email in December 2017.

Should you be accepted into the Showcase, the following steps will be required:

·  Pay the annual registration fee of $300 CDN. Additional costs apply to subscribe with more than one show.

·  Agree to the terms stated in the Artists Services Agreement.

·  Artists must complete the Criminal Record Check process, as outlined onartstarts.com/showcase-application
