Teaching procedure:
After Emily has prepared the cups with tea or coffee as per staff orders, she will read through the ‘Safe use of the urn’ sheetvisual prompt.
The support worker will show the correct procedure for using the urn for the first four cupsmodeling.
Emily will carry out the procedure for the last cup and will be praised for her effortverbal reinforcement.
The support worker will closely monitor Emily filling the cups to ensure safety.
The support worker will ask Emily how confident she felt in doing the taskfeedback.
