1.  How many parents, on average, actively participated in/supported the extracurricular program? On average roughly 650 parents, relatives, and friends actively would come to a MVMS athletic events.

2.  What is the percentage of parent’s involvement is coaching and/or instruction? We had 4 parent volunteer to assist in coaching football, girls’ basketball, and boys’ track.

4.  What is the percentage of parent’s involvement is transportation? 100% of all athlete’s parents were responsible to pick-up their athlete after practices and game.

Purpose of the Activity

1.  What was the purpose of the event? The purpose of the event was to involve 7th and 8th student in middle school athletics. It allowed each athlete to build a concept of team sports and promote academic awareness, and responsibly to develop an active member in the community. Why did this activity take place?

2.  The activity took place to develop young athletes physically, emotionally, and build a better self-esteem as a young adult.

What was the goal and aim of the activity?

1.  The goal of middle school athletic is to build a team concept and give young men and women an opportunity to experience an organize sport, which is supported by the New Mexico Activity Association and the Alamogordo Public Schools.

1.  What were the indicators of success for the activity?

The indicator of success for MVMS athletic is 226 athletes participated in middle school sports. This is a 54% participation rate for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students at MVMS.

How do you know the activity was successful?

The program was successful because these 226 athletes maintain a 2.0 GPA or better in their academics. There was a less 1% discipline problem for all 7th and 8th grade athletes at MVMS. Middle school athletics was successful in build strong character, for future citizens in our community.

What indicators do you know that the event was successful?

All our athletic programs were successful because all our coaches are educators here at MVMS. This allowed our athletes to be supervised daily in their academic and behavior issues. This allowed our athletes to excel in academic and athletic events throughout the school year. Student Involvement
