NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF LOWELL
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts' Division of Capital Asset Management hereby gives notice that, pursuant to Chapter 36 of the Acts of 1999 and Chapter 9 of the Acts of 2002, a public hearing is required by Sections 40F1/2 and 40I of Chapter 7 of the Massachusetts General Laws, to conduct a public hearing to (i) consider reuse restrictions prior to the disposition of the Commonwealth property in the city of Lowell and (ii) disclose the conditions and reasons for the proposed disposition, and significant change of use, of the Commonwealth property that has been declared surplus to the needs of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The Commonwealth property consisting of four (4) parcels of land totaling an estimated 128,878± square feet (2.95± acres) and 224,070± gross square feet of building space and associated infrastructures located on Perkins Street between Aiken Street and Suffolk Street in the city of Lowell, Massachusetts that has been declared surplus to the needs of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The following is a breakdown of the land square footage: Parcel 4 is 4,934± sf, Parcel 6 is 35,047± sf, Parcel 7 is 21,697± sf and the Ames Parcel is estimated to be 67,200± sf (the exact boundaries of the property will be determined by a commissioned survey). The following is a breakdown of building space and associated infrastructures: Parcel 4 is 6,435± gsf, Parcel 6 is 144,265± gsf, Parcel 7 is 73,370± gsf and there is no building on the portion of the Ames Parcel. The property is under the care and control of the University of Massachusetts Lowell Campus. The property has been determined to be surplus to current and foreseeable public uses and is available for sale.
The hearing shall be conducted on Friday January 14, 2005 at 6:30pm at the JFK Civic Center, 50 Arcand Drive, Lowell, Massachusetts in the Arthur Hammar Conference Room located on the Second Floor.
