NRF SANAP SYMPOSIUM 2018
Participant Information
Background: The 5th SANAP Symposiumwill be hosted in Hermanusby the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) from 13 to 16 August 2018. SANAP funds, administered by CPUT, will support certain travel expenses andup to three night’s accommodation for academic participants. We will endeavour to spread the available budget fairly across institutions. We will organise all accommodation, travel bookings and payments.Reimbursements for privately organised travel costs are not feasible without prior arrangement.
All participants are encouraged to deliver a presentation on their work in one of the two formats. Participants will have the opportunity to deliver either 20 minute oral presentations or digital posters in a 4 minute speed talk oral format. No facilities will be available for traditional poster presentations. Presentations will be grouped according to the MARS thematic areas, and applicants are therefore requested to identify under which of the following themesthey wish to present:

* Participants will be responsible for organising and paying for their own ground transport to their local airport.
** Bus transport will be arranged at fixed times from Cape Town International Airport to the venue in Hermanus on Monday 13 August 2018 (morning) and from the venue in Hermanus to Cape Town International Airport on 16 August 2018 (afternoon) and to align with flight arrivals and departures. Participants from the Cape Town region need to make their own way to and from Cape Town International Airport if they wish to make use of the bus transfers. Participants from Stellenbosch can be collected and dropped off in Somerset West en route along the N2.
*** Participants will be accommodated in quality Hermanus Bed and Breakfast (Staff) or Backpacker type (Student) establishments. Student accommodation will be shared. All breakfasts and lunches will be provided. One of the three evening meals will be for participants own accounts.
