The Prince and the Pauper
You are going to create a comic book using the chapters in The Prince and the Pauper. You will create one square per chapter. Each comic square must contain the following six things:
- The title of the chapter – Use the titles that are in our novel. You may be creative on how you locate them on your comic.
- An illustration that demonstrates the most important scene in the chapter – The comic book illustrations must be colored with colored pencil or crayon.
- One or two sentences that summarize the chapter – The summary needs to be written on the back in pen or typed separately and glued on.
- A cover sheet – Create a cover sheet in which you draw an illustration for the entire novel. Do not do this until you have completed the book. Your cover sheet should include the following:
The title of the novel
The author’s name
Your name
My name
The due date (This will be determined when we are on chapter 12.)
- A character / plot analysis page – You will write two parts for this assignment. Write a paragraph or two examining the characters if the novel. Write a character analysis for the two main characters. You may choose to write a compare / contrast paragraph or write two paragraphs analyzing both the characters individually.
- You will also need to complete a plot diagram for the entire novel. I will provide you with the graphic organizer; you will be responsible for analyzing the story, categorizing the sections and writing out the diagram using proper sequence.
