Hours: Negotiable

Location: Richmond, London

Salary: £22,000 per annum (pro-rata)

Closing Date: Monday 7 November 2011 (12 noon)

Interview Date: Wednesday 30 November 2011

NASS is the only registered UK charity working entirely for people with ankylosing spondylitis (AS). It has three main tasks; to provide information for people with AS and their families; to campaign on their behalf for better services; and to support research into the condition.

NASS is looking for an exceptional Campaigns Officer to promote the findings of a report published last year, Looking Ahead ‘Best Practice for the care of people with ankylosing spondylitis’. In addition the post holder will also organise a UK-wide project to raise awareness of ankylosing spondylitis and the Looking Ahead findings with general practitioners.

Working as part of a small team, this will be a busy and varied role. A significant part of the role will be to build NASS’ parliamentary relationships and to lead campaigns to raise public awareness of AS. The successful candidate will also need to have some project management skills in order to roll-out the GP awareness project.

The successful candidate will likely have experience in campaigns work, having previously worked in the charitable sector. You will be organised, with an attention to detail and the ability to work on your own initiative but also as part of a small team. Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and influence various audiences are essential.
