Pool Information Guide

Please take a moment to read the pool information guide as well as the rules specific to the pool you attend.

Health and Safety

Safety in our lessons at and each venue is our priority. However, it is important to have read our terms and conditions and make sure you understand our assumption of risk. (i.e. you are fully responsible for child in the pool and surrounding areas). You will also be asked to sign to say that you have read and understood them. We ask parents to bring towels to pool side, in many instances fire exits are located at pool side. Please do not to change your baby on raised surfaces, a limited number of baby change mats are provided, but also feel free to bring your own. All medical conditions (including pregnancy) must be disclosed on your booking application, this is for your child and the carer who attends the regular swimming class. If it is someone different for one week, please ensure that medical conditions are disclosed to the instructor. Medications (e.g.epi pens, insulin and inhalers) can be kept at pool side in a clear plastic bag with your name on it). If you have any health issues regarding swimming it is advised you consult you GP or Health Visitor.

Valuables

We do not accept responsibility for any loss, damage or discolouration to swimwear or jewellery/watches in our lessons. We advise you to use the lockers where provided or bring valuables to poolside. This also extends to people watching our lessons.

Arrival Time

Please arrive ten minutes before the class commences to ensure that you and your child are relaxed and have adequate time to change. Try not to arrive too early or you may clash with the previous class getting changed.

Swimwear

A double nappy system must be worn in class at all times for all babies and toddlers who are not potty trained i.e. swim nappy and a Happy Nappy. You will not be able to attend the class without this double nappy system. Sun suits/Baby warmas/wet suits do not count as a layer or a nappy. Please refer to our Swim Shop for details.

Pool and Changing Room Hygiene

Eating/drinking at the pool side or in the changing rooms at all pools is forbidden. Where possible please shower before entering the pool. Pool hygiene is our priority; ladies please do not attend classes with fake tan, heavy make-up and body lotions. Long hair for parents and children must be tied up. Please be courteous to the swimmers who have classes after you, we ask all parents to mop up any excess water from the floor where they have been standing when getting changed.

Feeding/Illness

Avoid feeding your baby/toddlerfood or milk in the hour before the class. Do not bring your child swimming if they are unwell or have any contagious illness (e.g. conjunctivitis or chicken pox, sickness or diarrhoea).

This may seem a long list ....but the enjoyment of your special swim journey with us is our priority.

Specific pool information

Lutterworth & Warwickshire

Hilton: The Livingwell Health Club, is situated at the back of the hotel, but you can also park at the front of the hotel and walk through reception. The entry barrier will give you a parking ticket, so you do not pay for parking an exit ticket can be collected from the Leisure Reception. You will need a £1 coin for your locker. There is a Costa Coffee to meet up in after swimming. Please do not take push chairs into the hotel swimming classes, as there is limited space, however, car seats are allowed. Please dispose of nappies in the correct bin in the changing rooms.

Baginton: Little Splashers visitor badges will be issued on your first lesson and should be kept and displayed for the whole term. You will also be required to sign in at reception and sign the visitor book. Do not park in the bays at the front of the school as these are reserved for school buses. Please do not take push chairs into changing rooms, as there is limited space, however, car seats are allowed but must be taken to pool side during lessons. Please dispose of nappies in the correct bin in the changing rooms.

Oddfellows: Is situated on the corner of Warwick Street and Portland Street. Go through the blue side door at Portland Street which leads directly to the pool on the lower floor. You can not park at the front of the building, but there is plenty of parking down Portland Street or turn left out of Oddfellows and the roads off the traffic lights : Dale Street and Clarence Street have no double yellow lines so the parking is free. Alternatively, park in the Tesco multi-story (back entrance) opposite Warwick St. Please note there is limited space for pushchairs, but there is plenty of viewing space to watch the lessons. There are men’s and ladies changing rooms down stairs and for extra space if required, for ladies we hire Sunderland Suite upstairs, please take care with your baby when going up and down the stairs. Nappies must be taken home from this venue.

Town Thorns: Please Park in the visitors car park. Do not park at the front of the building, as these spaces are for nurses and buses. The pool is situated on the left as you go through the reception doors. There are men’s and ladies changing rooms and space on the pool side to watch lessons. Lockers are not provided therefore you may want to valuables through the pool side. All nappies must be taken home from this venue. Please note that push chairs cannot be taken to this venue due to the limited space.

Lutterworth/Husbands Bosworth (private house): Please park in the car park at the front of the house, go through the garden gate sign posted ‘The Pool House’. All nappies must be taken home from this venue.

St Gregory’s/ Stratford: Parking can be found at Avenue Rd outside St Gregory’s School (after 9.30am) or on the surrounding streets. You will be asked to sign into the school reception, the pool is signposted through the school. Push chairs should be left at the school reception, and car seats stored at pool side during lessons. All nappies must be taken home from this venue.

The Glebe Hotel/ Barford: The Hotel has ample parking; please go through to the Hotel Reception where you will be asked to sign in and out. The pool is situated in the leisure club to the left of reception down the hall. There is limited viewing space to watch the lessons. Bags must be stored in the lockers during lessons and car seats stored at pool side during lessons. Please take nappies home from this venue.

Chesford Grange: The Leisure Club is situated at the second entrance after the Conference Hall. The hotel has ample parking, however if the leisure car park is full, please use the front conference car park. There is limited viewing space to watch the lessons from the glass cafe/reception area. Please take nappies home from this venue.

Specific pool information

Leicester and Hinckley

Winstanley Community College:On-site car parking is provided, please park in the marked bays only.All pushchairs / car seats are to be left in the lobby area of the pool building. Male, female and disabled toilets and change rooms withshowersare available. There are lockers in the changerooms, however we advise that all valuables be brought to poolside with you.Please note this pool has ashallow and adeep end - please do notenter thedeep end at any time.There is poolside seating for spectators. All nappies must be taken home from this venue.

Northfield House Primary School: Unfortunately, parking in the school or children’s centre car parks is not allowed, due to limited space. However, car parking can be found on the side streets opposite the main entrance to the school. When you arrive at the school, please go straight to the pool building, which is the blue door opposite the school reception. Male, female and disabled toilets and changerooms with showers are available. There are baby change units in both male and female changerooms, as well as a play pen in the female changing. There is poolside seating for spectators. All nappies must be taken home from this venue.

Westfield Junior School, Hinckley: There is limited parking at the school, additional parking can be found on the main road outside the school or at the children’s centre at the back. There are men’s and ladies changing rooms at the school. Lockers are not provided therefore you may want to valuables through the pool side. All nappies must be taken home from this venue.

De MontfortUniversity

Queen ElizabethII Diamond Jubilee Leisure Centre

The leisure centre has an agreement with Tescos across the road, so parking there is free of charge.
