HPTA 24TH ANNUAL SILENT AUCTION

The HPTA is putting the finishing touches on the 24th Annual Silent Auction. The event will be held at Glen Ellen Country Club in Millis, MA on Saturday, March 24. Doors open at 7 pm.

Join Auctioneer Chuck Nowlin, disc jockey from WZLX, as he leads bidders through the Live Auction portion of the evening. A special Live Auction item will be offered to benefit the Andrea and Joshua Memorial Scholarship Fund, created to honor Andrea and Joshua Goncalves who passed away in a car accident on March 26, 2006. There will be multiple trips up for bid – a week in Antigua; two different weekends in Vermont; and a girls weekend at the Cape. Rounding out the Auction are fabulous items such as a golf outing at Pleasant Valley; dinner in your home, prepared by local chef Rick Litavis; the ever-elusive Wii; and four tickets to see The Police at Fenway in July.

Another highlight of the event is the ‘It All Starts Here’ raffle. This incredible package has been donated by the Hopkinton Athletic Association, Boston Athletic Association, Hopkinton Marathon Committee, Able Limo, and Hopkinton Schools. It is a priceless and exclusive package offering two tickets to the Kenyan Runner Event at Elmwood School; the Metrowest Symphony Orchestra Marathon performance; VIP seating at the start line of the Marathon; a limo to and from Boston donated by Able Limo, passes to the finish line; tickets to the VIP John Hancock Brunch; a beautifully framed lithograph of the 100th running of the Marathon, signed by Johnny Kelley; and a library of Marathon books. There will also be a raffle for a quilt made of Marathon t-shirts from the past several years. Tickets for both raffles are available at Action Copy. To top it all off, Marathon Event Director Dave McGillvray will be at the Auction to pull the winning tickets and sign his book, The Last Pick, for the winners.

The Auction begins at 7 pm, and tickets are available at the door for $15, or $10 in advance at Action Copy. There will be a special Children’s Gallery Preview from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. during set up, when children can come and see all the wonderful Children’s Gallery Baskets, and put raffle tickets in for their favorites. Silent Auction Books were sent home during the week of March 12, and extra copies are available for pick up at Action Copy. For more information regarding the items up for bid, please check the HPTA Auction page at www.hopkinton.k12.ma.us.

Phipps Insurance Agency, Inc.; Hopkinton Drug, Inc.; ReMax Executive Realty; E.L. Harvey and Sons, Inc.; The Milford National; Ryan Financial Advisors, Inc.; MicroNet Associates; Scott Septic, Inc.; and Joyce Plumbing and Heating.
