SECTION A:

The scope of work for this bid package shall include, but is not necessarily limited to the following general items:

Project Coordination:

1.) Contractor is to furnish manpower, materials, and equipment necessary, as required by the project schedule, including interim milestone dates, and to furnish additional crews, equipment, etc. and/or overtime required to maintain the schedule if Contractor falls behind due to their own fault or due to inclement weather.

2.) Contractor is responsible for field engineering, layout and field layout from benchmarks and base building control furnished by the Construction Manager. Rough-In requirements are to be dimensioned off of column lines as shown on the contract documents.

3.) Contractor shall furnish hoisting, material transport, and all material handling for the scope of this bid package.

4.) Contractor shall furnish pumping and dewatering as required for the scope of this bid package. Any pumping performed must be done so as not to hinder any other trades’ work.

5.) Contractor will perform any saw cutting, patching, and removal of debris as required for the scope of this bid package. The Construction Manager must approve the quality of any cutting and patching work.

6.) Contractor shall furnish drinking water for its employees and its subcontractors’ employees for the scope of this bid package.

7.) Contractor shall Include all remobilization operations required to complete the scope of this bid package.

8.) Contractor shall coordinate all material deliveries with the Construction Manager and shall have a representative on site to receive all deliveries of materials under the scope of work of this bid package.

9.) Contractor shall clean up his work in such a manner as to maintain safe working conditions on the project, including but not limited to excess material, lunch trash, and dirt and debris on streets and sidewalks. All trash generated from this Contractor’s work or its’ forces shall be removed by the Contractor’s own forces and Contractor’s equipment. Trash shall be placed in an on-site dumpster provided by construction manager. Any waste that requires special disposal such as concrete, pavement or hazardous waste will be disposed of by Contractor and not placed in the on-site dumpster. Debris placed in the dumpster must fit within the confines of the dumpster; otherwise it is the responsibility of this contractor to remove such debris from the project in an acceptable manner. If after a 24 hours notice Contractor fails to clean-up trash, then the Construction Manager may clean up the trash and the cost thereof shall be charged to the Contractor.

10.) Contractor shall submit to Construction Manager an emergency contact list containing information on field supervisory personnel and management personnel complete with phone numbers prior to commencing work on the project.

11.) Contractor’s field supervisory personnel shall attend weekly project coordination meetings while performing work on the site.

12.) Contractor shall periodically inspect the progress of project and attend weekly project coordination meetings prior to performing work on the site for purposes of coordinating future work of this contractor with other trades and construction manager.

13.) Contractor shall conform to the Construction Manager’s work hours.

14.) Contractor shall furnish protection of adjacent surfaces and repair of any damage caused by the work of this Contractor.

15.) Contractor’s personnel are to remain in the work area and are not to use any of the university’s existing facilities, personnel in areas other the work area will be removed from the project.

16.) Contractor will be responsible for protecting all stored materials from weather, working activities, and theft.

17.) At no time during the duration of the project will Tobacco, of any type, be allowed on Cherokee Nation property. Any individual violating the policy may be required to be removed from Cherokee Nation property on a permanent basis.

Safety:

18.) Contractor is to provide for its employees all necessary safety railing and fall protection as required by the authorities having jurisdiction and construction managers standard safety policies and procedures.

19.) Contractor will comply with the all OSHA standards and construction manager’s safety program regarding this same subject.

20.) Contractor will furnish temporary barricades, flagmen and traffic control as required for the scope of this bid package.

21.) Contractor shall furnish all scaffolding, work platforms, equipment and supplies to complete all work performed under the scope of this bid package, and as required by the authorities having jurisdiction and OSHA’s standard safety policies and procedures.

22.) Contractor shall furnish all temporary shoring and bracing that may be required under the scope of this bid package. If engineering is required for such bracing or shoring, cost of such engineering is to be included in this bid package.

23.) Contractor will prepare in an acceptable format a job specific safety plan including written hazard analysis and hazardous materials communication information prior to starting work.

24.) Contractor will comply with the construction managers safety requirements as outlined in the construction managers safety manual.

Testing:

25.) Contractor will assist the Material Testing Laboratory in obtaining samples and gathering data as needed and shall notify the Construction Manager a minimum of 24 hours in advance of testing required under the scope of work of this bid package.

26.) Laboratory materials testing shall be provided by others, however, any re-testing required due to failed initial testing or areas not being ready for required testing due to the actions of this Contractor shall be paid for by this Contractor.

27.) Contractor shall include cost and will be responsible to perform any waterproofing test as required in the construction documents.

Administrative:

28.) Contractor will furnish all submittals, shop drawings, samples, mock-ups, and closeout documents required by the contract documents.

29.) Contractor shall furnish all submittals, shop drawings, and samples within 10 days of receipt of notice to proceed.

30.) Any professional engineering services required by the contract documents for the assembly of submittals and shop drawings are the responsibility of this contractor.

31.) Contractor will furnish all licenses, permits, and certifications and arrange for inspections and testing as may be required by and for this Contractor’s work, and as required by the authorities having jurisdiction.

32.) Contractor will be expected to sign the form of agreement, and provide insurance and bonds as required in the Contract Documents.

33.) Contractor shall include the cost of bonds and insurance in this bid package as an add alternate.

34.) The term “substantial completion” is defined as substantial completion of the overall project or portions thereof as designated by the Owner, Architect, & Construction Manager.

35.) Contractor shall submit closeout documents within 30 days of completion of the scope of this bid package.

36.) In addition to all contract requirements, it is understood the owner specifically reserves the right to terminate the subcontract agreement for “cause of convenience”, see the document in the instructions to bidders for further information.

37.) The Owner has established that retainage will be held on all contracts in the amount of 10%. It is understood the retainage is held by the Owner and can be held until substantial completion of project or of that phase of the project.

38.) The Owner has established that only materials stored or installed at the project site can be invoiced for payment.

39.) No part of the subcontract agreement will limit the “sovern status” of The Cherokee Nation.

SECTION B:

The scope of work of this bid package shall also include the following items, but without limiting the scope of work as provided above:

1.) Furnish and install all aluminum storefront, window and entrance systems including entrance doors and door frames, fixed light framing, in fill panels, finish hardware (preparation, installation, furnish as specified), glass and glazing, weather stripping, miscellaneous related aluminum, thresholds, anchors, brackets, attachments, sealants and all other accessories necessary for a complete installation.

2.) Furnish and install glazing of all aluminum storefront in accordance with the contract documents including sealants and gaskets.

3.) Furnish and install glazed aluminum window wall systems including frames, glass and glazing, weather stripping, miscellaneous related aluminum, sub-frame and slab closures, anchors, brackets, shims, attachments, sealants and all other accessories necessary for a complete installation.

4.) Furnish and install all caulking of interior and exterior of aluminum storefront entrance and window wall systems in accordance with the contract documents.

5.) Remove all labels, part numbers, sealant, stickers, tape etc from all components after installation. Provide initial cleaning including removal of fabrication markings.

6.) Perform/provide all testing and certification as required by the contract documents.

7.) Furnish and install all break metal, closures, covers, and flashings as required for a complete installation.

8.) Furnish and install all wood blocking, anchors, brackets, etc for positive means of attachment to the structure.

9.) Provide engineered calculations and state licenses such as required by the contract documents.

10.) Collapse all glazing crates prior to placing in the dumpster.

11.) Field dimensions as required.

12.) Contractor is responsible for any LEED requirement for this scope as indicated by the contract documents.

Excluded:

NOTE 1: This bid package includes a required 40 hour work week, and any normal delays (such as weather, coordination conflicts, & work congestion) will be made up on Saturday.
