Our speaker tonight is Deputy Dale DeKorte and K-9 partner Ritzey. They are the first arson K-9 team to be operated by the Kent County Sheriff Department. K-9 Ritzey and Deputy DeKorte were certified under the guidelines of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in May 2013. K-9 Ritzey is a Goldador canine and trained to smell and locate accelerants that an arsonist might use to set fires. K-9 Ritzey and Deputy DeKorte are available through the Kent County Sheriff Department and service the area of the Michigan Sheriff’s Association District IV.
HELP! We need cooks for our April meetings. Please notify Lion Dianna. The meal budget should not exceed $175with a $50 stipend.
Easter Honey Hams:Do you know of an organization that would like to see our hams? They would make $5 for every ham sold. Cost per ham is just $30.00 with a weight of 8-9 lbs. All hams must be paid at the time of purchase.Orders are due no later than April 1st. Pick up at the Community Cabin on Friday, April 14th, 3-6pm and Saturday, April 15, 9a-12pm. Chili Fest Update: It was a great success many hungry lions in attendance. First place winner was 1st Vice District Governor, Julie May/Marne Lions Club. Second place was Sparta Lions Club. Third place was Rockford Lion Eric Keith. Thank you to all who participated with their chili entries. And kudos to Lion Kim Neveau who organized this fun event.

Rockford Expo: Look for our booth on Saturday, March 18th, 9a-3p at Rockford High School. We will have entries for a ham raffle. There are three two-hour shifts that you can volunteer: 9a-11a, 11a-1p, and 1p-2p. It’s another opportunity to promote our services to the attendees.
